goin' back to canada...
not much to say here...
especially since i am running around like a chiecken with my head cut off trying to get everything done...i am infamous for leaving things to the last minute...and this is no exception...
so, as of 11:00 pm wednesday night, i will officially be back in edmonton...
i am going to miss will...i don't know how i will go every day without him...i can hardly wait to see him when he comes up to visit...

it wasn't meant to be...
"Sometimes God uses women to house angels until he has room for them to come back to heaven. You had an angel in your womb but it was time for it to go home."
"God is taking care of you guys and He has your little one in His hands."
these were, i think, the most wonderful words i could have been told...this has been one of the hardest things for me to go through...physically and emotionally...
i can safely say that much of my comfort comes from these words, offered to me by friends...
my other comfort comes from the amazing support of my wonderful husband...he has taken such great care of me...he held me in his arms as i cried and cried and cried some more...he bought me a heating pad for the cramping in my stomach and back...he brought me breakfast in bed...he even kept the bedroom door closed so Shawnessy wouldn't get in and wake me up...he took two days off work to look after me...and i can say is that i would not have survived yesterday if it was not for him staying home with me...
the pain is finally starting to subside, but it is far from gone...
the rest of my comfort comes from knowing that things happen for a reason...i may never know the reason, but God does...he knows why he needed our little baby back with him...
all i need to remember is that it happened for a reason...

padded room, here i come...
ok, seriously...i don't know how i do it...stay alive, that is...
a week or two b4 the wedding i burned my hand...honestly, i can't recall what i burned it on, but it burned bad enough to blister and peel and you know, see that i was doofusy enough to burn myself...
a couple days ago i am putting dinner in the pre-heated, very hot (450 f, to be precise) oven when i pressed my arm against the oven door...while i was on the phone!!! but since i was on the phone with my mother, no especially choice words were spoken...or screamed!!!
then today...oh, today...i am opening the bathroom door, and i somehow hit my toe with the edge of the door, which in pain, thrusts my upper body...namely the chestal area, into the edge of the door, which then, in pain, also thrusts my face into the edge of the door...namely the eye...
i am serious...how do i survive??? how am i not dead or permanently in special care...seeing as i am indeed SPECIAL!!!
and all i can do is laugh!!! because we all know that even if i were in a padded room, i would still somehow manage to hurt myself...even if i was walking to the door which would be opened for me, i would trip and hurt my ankle...or...OOOH OOOH!!! how about this scenario...i am sitting...always (never allowed to stand)...i would rock back and forth in boredom and fall backwards hitting my head on the floor...(if it were padded, though, it may not hurt, but i may twist my back in a weird position when i fall)...
it's just the type of thing i would do...
lol

so, i've been hearing rumors...
that it is FREEZING cold in edmonton...which, admittedly, makes me less and less want to come back...
so, i decided to check it out for myself...
today, a high of -6c (21.2f) with a low of -12c (10.4f)...
ok...i admit...it is colder than fresno, today, high of 12c (53.6f) with a low of 1c (33.8f)...but that is NOT freezing cold...lol
don't get me wrong...i don't doubt i will be wearing a toque, mitts and winter coat and wimpering my pretty little butt off, but that's only cause i am very aclimatized to fresno weather...which even i am willing to use the heater all day in...
i just have always laughed at how wimpy we as canadians are when it comes to the cold...i mean, i don't think -30c (-22f) is all that terrible if there is no wind...but give me -12c (10.4f) with a wind and i will cry...i just think it's funny how we always cry about how cold it is, and how "you need to bundle up out there, dear...it's frigid" (we've all heard it before) and i walk out the door taking my coat off as i walk...cause it's so not frigid!!! lol
anyhoo...maybe i will be singing a different note when i get there after being in CA for 6 months...i'm excited to come home, see friends and family again...but so sad to be leaving Will...i don't know how i will survive not being with him every day...

Hello, Krystin!
Your baby isn't much bigger now than last week in actual size — another quarter inch at most — but that's almost double what he was last week. He's now the size of a raspberry. If you had a window into your womb, you'd notice his eyelids forming, the tip of his nose developing, and his distinct, slightly webbed fingers and toes.

so, holy craziness...
this week will and i went down to put me on his insurance so i could start seeing an obgyn...well, it turns out i won't be on his insurance til feb. 1...yeah, when i go home...
so, i decided to book an appt with my obgyn up there...yeah, i can't get in til mar. 8...
how crazy is that...i'll be something like 14 weeks pregnant b4 i get to see an obgyn about being prego...how crazy is that??? don't they normally want to see you at 8 weeks???
oh, well, what do you do???
and the thing that sucks is that i had an appt with an obgyn down here for tomorrow or thursday, but since it apparently takes will's insurance company 2 weeks to type my name in the computer, that just wouldn't work...so i had to cancel...
other than that, life is good...
shawnessy is sick...poor girl...she has a chronic ear infection...so, every day for the rest of her life we have to clean out and medicate her ears...she's sleeping now...ever since i brought her home...put her blanket down in the laundry room and wrapped her up in it...she looks so sweet...and she is sound asleep...poor baby...
anything else new???
not really...
going back to edmonton feb. 1 for about 3 months...hopefully less, though...by being up there i will be missing valentine's day, solomon's birthday and his baptism (if it is right away) and possibly will's birthday...i am hoping that i will be able to be with him then...i so don't want to miss that...
i can't really think of anything else that is going on, so for now, i guess that is all...

weekly update...
This week, your baby is about the size of a small lentil bean. Her (or his) brain, muscles, and bones are beginning to take shape. Her (or his) hands and feet resemble little paddles, with thick webbing still in place between her (or his) developing fingers and toes. And her (or his) tiny heart has begun beating. Though you probably won't actually feel anything for another ten weeks or so, she's (or he's)about to make her (or his)very first movements.

weekly update i get...
Hello, Krystin! Your baby is now 1 to 2 millimeters long — about the size of a sesame seed — and enjoying his (or her) first huge growth spurt. He (or she) still resembles a tadpole more than anything else, but already the cells for his ( or her) vital organs, including his (or her) kidneys and liver, are forming, and this week his (or her) heart will begin beating. (bracketed her/she is compliments of me...i don't know if it's a boy, and it just seems wrong to call it a he is it's a she...talk about identity crisis!!!) lol
i can't believe it will already have a heartbeat...that seems so crazy soon...

so...can you guess what day yesterday was???
it was our one month anniversary...
i can hardly believe it...it has gone by so stinkin' fast...it's weird to think that i last saw my family 1 month ago, i was getting all dolled up a month ago, i was standing (freezing my butt off) by the ocean a month ago...which i might add, may not be a bad idea right now...i could handle a little less butt...lol
i last saw will wearing a kilt a month ago...
it's all so amazing to me...we have been married 1 whole month...and that is SOOOOOOO cool...
i love it!!!
i loved being proposed to...i loved being engaged...i loved planning our perfect little wedding...i love being married...and i love being pregnant...
"SAY WHAT???", screams JannaBanana, as she skips back and re-reads the fine print, again and again..."you're pregnant???"
yes, it is a true story...
we found out on the night of Jan 1/06...(happy new year to us)
we had our suspicions, but this is when it was confirmed...how great is that???
we are, of course, praying for the best...there is a history of miscarriages in our family, and we know it is something we may face...but we are hoping, and praying, that we will not...that by some miracle, this pregnancy will be problem-free...
i pray every night for my sister who is pregnant...
the best part is that we are about 12 weeks apart from each other...
mk, i believe is due mid-late june...i am due early sept...
it's kinda funny...i notice that i am hungry ALL the time...and i love it!!!
no weird cravings as of yet, no morning sickness...but every so often i do get so dizzy so quickly that i have to just lie down on the floor...no questions asked...on the floor...
well, anyways...i gotta go now...i have to go to the store and pick up some carpet freshner and probably some prego vitamins w/folic acid in them...
keep you all posted, course...

where's NOAH when you need him???
holy heck...well, i guess it is the season for winter storms...and it's most definitely not your typical canadian winter snow storm...nope, it is a rain storm...
we have so much rain, that it has flooded from our patio area into our garage...i had to go in and put anything fabric above ground...luckily, a lot of stuff is stored in plastic containers, so, i just put stuff on top of those...
it is so crazy...it's been raining most of yesterday, all night, and all day today until about 7 pm...
raods are crazy, too...i was one of the slower moving vehicles last night to go pick up will and even i was sliding around in spots...
there was one mini van that gunned it through a puddle right in front of us and as she got into it, she realized how deep it was...it was DEEP...and she had to hit her brakes, water was spewing everywhere...it was nuts!!!
so, anyways...yeah, we are about ready to build ourselves an ark...
it's even flooding into our back hallway...it's coming up under the carpet...i have towels on the floor right now and i am stepping on them to soak up the water, and i am sure i will be doing that all day...then when the rain stops, IF the rain stops 2nite at 7 like they say it should, i will be bringing our fans out to try and dry it up a bit...i will be washing/drying towels all day, so i don't run out and can keep putting them down on the floor...
wish me luck!!!
