11 things i have learned since living in california...
1. how to do u-turns like a professional...seriously, you just don't do u-turns at every intersection in canada.
2. how to operate a cable remote control...sad, i know, but will got cable so i would not be bored out of my tree here...and it took me awhile, but i got it figured out...FINALLY!!! (i think)
3. how to drive on a freeway without killing/inflicting damage to myself or my fiancee...freeway virgin till a few days ago.
4. water from a california garden hose can scald your precious skin when first turned on...and it never really gets cold...really, it's not cold.
5. a 15 minute walk with the dog in the middle of the day can actually kill you...or if nothing else, send you to emergency from dehydration and sun stroke. ( i hate to sound like a wimp, but, in this case it is true!)
6. how to drink water and LOVE IT!!! and realize they weren't lying when told tell you it is a necessity of life.
7. canadians do not need to wear a pair of pants down here...EVER!!! nope, not even in the winter at 50 degrees f...that's perfect sun tan weather up in canada...hee hee
8. not all disneyland rides are what they are made out to be...believe me when i say i had the time of my life, but i thought all rides were like indiana jones, you know, fast and exciting...nope, apparently not...but i am so stoked to go back.
9. 11 dogs, 8 cats, 3 birds and 1 human is entirely too many life forms in one house at a time...(this is not my house)
10. apparently, i have a really cute canadian accent...even when i don't say 'eh'! (which i only do to make people laugh cause it is the stereotypical canadian thing)
and last but but not least,
11. despite our differences, Canada and the United States of America are pretty much the same...the only thing that really makes me realize i am not in canada, is the occasional glimpse of target, or texaco, or claim jumpers, or the american flag flying at full mast.
