wow...
can you believe that i am 16 weeks pregnant today??? it's amazing...
such a miracle this whole pregnancy has been...getting pregnant 5 weeks after miscarrying, at a time of month when it seems not possible, being away from will and only seeing him once a month, every ache and pain that scared me, now here i am ...in the second trimester...i have had one ultrasound, and seen the baby there, and i have heard it's heartbeat...i am glad will got to be there for that :) i will be having another ultrasound on july 11, maybe earlier if i can, and then we should be able to tell if it is a boy or girl...
i get to go to Fernie, BC this weekend...my cousin is getting married and i am able to get the time off work and go...i am so excited to get to go see everyone (all my cousins and aunties and uncles)...how fun will that be???
other than that, there is not a whole lot going on in my life for now...
will and solomon are probably coming up sometime next week, so they can be here for Canada Day...that would be so fun :)
well, i guess that is all for now...
talk to you all later...

first craving...
it was thursday night, around 10 pm...
i am talking on the phone to Will and the unthinkable happened...ok, i guess it isn't unthinkable, but i was wondering how long it would take...
well, it took 15 weeks of pregnancy to finally get the first craving...
and it was BAD!!!
i mean, i needed that craving satisfied...SOON!!!
so, at 10 pm, thankfully we live really close to a grocery store (and it is open til 11) cause i might have died otherwise...
wanna know what it was???
steamed asparagus and steamed baby carrots...
no jokes...
i am being dead serious...
it's no pickles and ice cream, but some consider it a weird craving (but most liked the sound of it)
and it was DIVINE!!!
plus, i found out 2 new ways to cook asparagus 2nite...so, i will have to try those recipes out, cause i got a good amount of asparagus sitting in the fridge now...
mmmmmmmmmmm, asparagus and baby carrots :)

WE WON!!!
so, the oilers game was a close one last night...but about 3 or 4 mintutes into overtime, Pisani got this wicked awesome goal!!! it was HOT!!!
let me give you a recap...puck was taken into the oilers zone...we were screaming for it to get out of the oilers zone...and, the oilers listened to our screams (or so it seemed) lol...well, then carolina being who they are, start it back towards the oilers zone...well, right around the centre line Pisani comes and steals the puck away from a carolina's player's stick...like, some guy had his stick kinda-controlling the puck and Pisani stole it from him...it was SWEET!!! and, of course, everyone and his dog (incl. the oilers) were already down in the oilers zone, leaving Pisani alone with Ward (Carolina's very very good goalie) who wasn't so good on this stopping our winning goal...he had no defence to help him out, or any other people...it was a battle between Pisani and Ward...and Pisani shot it and in it went...making th goal 4-3 for oilers, with the series now being 3 wins for Carolina, and 2 wins for Edmonton...
and i gotta be honest, it was a beautiful thing, seeing the faces of distraught fans who had only minutes before cheered when the Oilers got a penalty, then cry cause we got a goal...while our guy was in penalty!!!
one little boy was crying, two guys just sat shaking their heads in utter disbelief, one man was consoling his teenage son who looked very upset (he was near tears)...
it was just, overall, a brilliant play :)
GO OIL GO!!!
still gotta win the last two games to get the cup, but we are on our way :)

i'm jut sitting here doing my morning check of emails, and other sites i visit daily, and the worst thing just happened...
i just got this totally overwhelming sense of loneliness...and i started to cry :(
i just have this awful pain inside of me, this pain of being lonely and it just hit me...and it is so awful...
i guess there's just so much going on right now and it all came crashing into me at once...
i guess i should just shake it off for now and go on with my day...
i gotta go eat and have a shower before heading to work...
i now work an hour later, at 10 instead of 9...
i have to leave in just under an hour...dang, i wish it was friday...

saturday was a good day...
i had a pretty darn good day on saturday...i went and picked up our rings...we took them in to the jeweller to have them both sized, and mine also soldered...they look so good :) it's so sparkly :)
right after that, i went and got my hair cut...it is just barely past my shoulders now...i had my hair this way probably 1.5 years ago...it's grown a lot since then and it was time to let it all go again :)
right after that, my niece and i went to the greekfest...there we met up with my cousin and her husband...i was given tickets on friday night, so i figured i would go...i like greek good and it was, truthfully, just nice to be out of the house for the day...whenever i have a day off, i just stay at the house...it was nice to be outside, eat some greek food, kinda enjoy the REALLY REALLY loud music...but it was really nice :)
after that, i decided to go to michael's...i didn't have my 40% off coupon, but figured i wouldn't be buying anything that would be expensive enough to warrant using it...i looked for prima flowers, but they only sell Jolee's for you flowers...so, i bought a bunch of those...they are so cute...and i bought something for nicole...for the circle journal i am doing right now, the theme is "I like Being a Girl" and you are supposed to send an item that will make the next girl feel 'girly'...so, i bought something for nicole...you'll have to wait, nicole, to find out what it is :)
then i went to Dollarama...i love that place...all i bought were a couple packs of stickers (baby and wedding) and some metal tags...
then i came home, and went to sleep...
well, i had a nap...
then i watched the hockey game while i talked to will on the phone...
fyi, WE WON!!!
GO OILERS GO!!!
we needed that win soooooooo bad...i mean, we can't just hand them the stanley cup on a silver platter....if we don't get it (which is REALLY REALLY hope we do), but IF we don't, we are gonna have to fight and not make it too easy...
so, we did win 2-1...
GREAT GAME, BOYS :)
then, at 5:45am on Sunday, we got a phone call telling us that our younger sister in NY has gone into labor and is on her way to the hospital...now we can find out if she has a boy or girl...YAH!!!

McDonald's interview...
so, i was sitting in McD's, oh, about 1-2 months ago (yes, i have been meaning to blog this for that amount of time), and i overheard an interview...
this is the interview from start to finish...
man is probably mid-40's, not especially clean-shaven, and, well, kinda overweight (fyi, i am in no way insulting him, just merely describing his appearance at the interview)
woman is interviewer, man is interviewee...
woman: Hi, there...how are you today?
man: I am good, thank you...and you?
woman: Good, thanks. So you are looking for full-time?
man: Yes, i am.
woman: And you are currently working at "such and such a store" during the days?
man: Yes.
woman: Well, we are actually looking for night-shift workers...from 10 pm-6 am.
man: Oh, that's fine.
woman: Oh, it is?
man: Yes, that is just great.
woman: Alright, how would you like to come in at 5 tonight, and we can start you on training.
man: Great, thanks.
shake hands, and they depart their seperate ways.
wow...all i can say if i don't think i have ever had an interview that easy...maybe i should go work at mcdonald's...all the discounted food i want...maybe then i will actually put on the weight during the pregnancy that i have been losing :)
lol...
i'm actually not THAT desperate to put pregnancy weight on...i'm sure that will come soon enough...

Sunday, June 04, 2006

so, i went to safeway yesterday morning in hope of getting some Neo Citran hot drink stuff for cold & flu...i thought it smart to read the label and make sure prego women could have it...yeah, NO!!!
so, i asked the pharmacist why it may not be safe for us to take, so she explained why, and noticing my miserableness, told me i didn't have a lot of options, unfortunately :(
so, she told me basically what i was limited to were throat lozanges (sp?), vicks inhaler (which is my new best friend for the time being anyways), and a vapo rub...yep...my options...
i had so many customers come through my till yesterday telling me that i should be at home in bed, not at work...i had to agree...what more could i do??? lol
so, my voice in cutting in and out...sometime i have it, sometimes i don't...
i am still, of course, having the morning sickness thing, too...so, that is just the icing on the cake...
and that is about it for now in the life of Krystin...
i have another ultrasound scheduled for july 11...we will be able to tell the sex of the baby then (so exciting)...and if all goes well, i should be able to go home around then, too...
i got to talk to my friend, nicole, from sbo for the first time a couple nights ago...dang, she is great!!! for all who don't know, sbo is scrapbookeronline.com...we have a great friendship already...i can tell...she thinks i am great, and i agree...lol
nah, i think she is great, and she thinks i am great...she is just hysterical :)
well, not a whole lot more going on...
aubryn had her dance recital yesterday, but i did not get to see it causei had to work :( hopefully they got it videotaped...
michelle's due date is coming up right quick...kari-lynn's is getting closer too...end of july (heck, i may still be here for that one if immigration doesn't hurry up...lol), and me in december...mum is thrilled about 3 new grandbabies for christmas...well, i guess that is my update for now...
have a happy day :)

2) the clothes i never wear
3) a lot of hangers to hang the clothes i do wear (which are not in the closet)
4) clothes that kari-lynn doesn't wear
5) i think there might even be some paint stuff in there (but i really don't know)

5 things in your purse:
1) my wallet (which matches my purse)
2) my change purse which SOOOOOOO does not match my purse
3) my lifeline...aka lipbalm
4) a lot of junk that no matter how often i clean it, there's always some there...
5) my very cute, little digital camera

5 things in my car: (i'll tell you mine and will's car...well, our truck)
ok...this may be a tricky one...what's in the car???

crap...this isn't getting any easier...lol
4) maps...i am sure we have a bunch of maps in there...
5) nasal spray...i can almost guarantee you will has a bottle of nasal spray in the compartment on the door...

5 things i watch regularly:
well, i haven't been watching these regularly, but i will tell you my 5 most favourite shows to watch (cause they are regularly watched when i have cable in Cali)
1) Mythbusters
2) Good Eats with Alton Brown
3) CSI:Las Vegas
4) The People's Court
5) Prison Break
all i can say is that i have a lot to catch up on once i get back down there...

if you read this, consider yourself tagged...

WAS THAT A THREAT???
so, we're at work yesterday, a whole bunch of us...and there is what a couple employees have labelled a 'crazy' lady in the store...
now, when they said crazy, i didn't know if she was just weird, had crazy requests/demands, or if she was indeed crazy...
well, we're standing by the tills, and she walks up, and says something to one of the guys...he just kinda shakes his head and looks back to what he's doing...well, she didn't like that...
Don't you shake your head at me!!! PRAISE JESUS!!! You all need to praise Jesus. YOU! AND YOU! AND YOU! (end up pointing at everyone there except me...do i have an aura around me that says i already have Jesus in my life or something??? i dunno know...but apparently, i don't have to praise Jesus, according to her demands...
so, she walks away...goes to the door and goes out the store...
so, a couple of us just kinda look at each other in disbelief and let out, no jokes, a couple of chuckles as if saying, what the heck was that???
well, apparently (this is where the questionable threat comes in), a lady in the lineup didn't like us chuckling about this...at least, not me, anyways...
looks right at me...
Don't laugh. That's how people get shot!!!
WHAT???
i look at her and say, I live in California...i know why people get shot...and i'm sorry, i think it's kinda funny when someone comes up and starts yelling for no apparent reason...it's just kinda funny...
well, she responds....well,that's your choice.
yeah, you're right, it is...
but i responded back, well, to be honest, i'm really not concerned about being shot.
she asked me to repeat myself, so i did...
also adding that maybe if i was in california i might be concerned, but still probably not.
she just told me that was my choice and left it at that...
and of course, after she left, we laughed some more...
what i shoulda said when she told me about getting shot, was 'Well, now...that wouldn't be very Christlike of her to come back and shoot me after telling us all to praise Jesus, now would it?'
but, whatever...it made for a humorous day...
humorous indeed :)

Thursday, June 01, 2006

well, it's been a busy past few days...
will got here saturday morning, and then had to leave early this morning...
we had, as always, good times together...
we rented a couple of rooms at the fantasyland hotel...on monday night we stayed in the roman room, and on tuesday night we stayed in the truck room...
i will post pictures tonight or tomorrow...
on wednesyday i had my first prenatal appt...it was great :) we got to hear the baby's heartbeat...it was such an amazing thing to hear...
i get to book my next ultrasound, as well...it will be in a few weeks, so by then they should be able to tell if it is a boy or a girl...(as long as the baby cooperates, that is)
our rings are getting sized and sautered, and that will take a coupel of weeks, so i got some temporary bling on my finger...ha ha ha
i figured, i don't want to look unmarried for a couple of weeks, so we got an inexpensive silver/cz ring...it's pretty hot :) it looks more like an engagement ring than a wedding band, but whatever...it works and it's pretty :)
gads, other than that...not a whole lot more goin on here at the moment...
things are just moving along as normal...
as for immigration, though...last we heard (a couple weeks ago) is that my application has been approved by immigration down in the usa, and now it is on it's way to the us consulate in calgary...that should take a month (from what we understand), and around the end of that month (being mid-june), within the next month, i should have received a letter from the consulate with my appt. time, and be able to by back by mid-july...
so, here's to hoping :)
well, that is all for now...

can't win them all, i guess...
oilers won the first 3 games of the western finals against the ducks...then lost miserabley tonight...well, i guess not miserablY...we did pull ourselves from 3-0 to 4-3...then ducks got a 5th goal, then a 6th...
so, i guess, that could actually be classified as miserably...
i guess it was too much to ask to just win the first 4 games right off the bat and have the series over with, but on the same token, it is asking a lot of the ducks to win the next 3 games...
i mean, all we need is one more win...and within the next 3 games, we should be able to pull it off...
we better be able to pull it off...
i didn't go spend, well, a good amount of $$$ today on oiler's stuff to lose the western finals...
just pray that it doesn't go to game 7...cause i fear sudden death there...i mean, us win 3 games, then ducks win 3...and then be at game 7...i know we pulled it off with detroit like that, but that was pure luck...
incredible...but luck :)
well, all i can say now is...
GO OILERS GO!!!

no more toast for breakfast for me...
maybe no more toast for me EVER!!! (at least while pregnant, anyways)
apparently, toast is not a good food for me to eat...some would say i should have figured that one out when iT MADE me feel sick when i would eat it, but that is not enough for me...
however, BEING sick after eating it is enough for me to say...
NO MORE TOAST!!!
it's ging to be a long 6 more months with no toast...
i like toast :(

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

so here it is...our baby :)
the ultrasound went very well...i started crying when she showed me the baby...it was so amazing to see it...with it's legs straight up in the air, the heart beating, it's arm lying beside it, and it's big ol' head...
and i gotta say...if the 6cm it says there is the length of the baby, almost 3", i think we got ourselves a tall baby :)
cause at 12 weeks, a baby should be 1.5"-2"...not almost 3"
either way, we are very excited and it was great to see the baby today :)

p.s. sorry for my reflection in the pic...

YAH!!!

Hello, Krystin!

Your fig-sized fetus now measures 1 1/2 inches from head to bottom and weighs in at a quarter-ounce. He finally looks like a baby, with tiny but fully formed fingers and toes. As his body grows and becomes more developed and functional, he'll start twisting and turning like an acrobat, cushioned and protected by your amniotic fluid. You, on the other hand, are probably feeling less like a gymnast every day. Heartburn (caused by pregnancy hormones that relax the valve separating your esophagus from your stomach) and indigestion may be annoying you during the day and keeping you up at night. Just remember, all this suffering is for a good cause — you're having a baby!

i think a bird just flew into the window...
i'm not sure...
but i heard a sound that would indicate the wondow being struck...then as i looked out there was a bird (or a bat, perhaps) kinda flying wobbly and side to side...not really sure where to go...
i'm thinking it flew into the window...
it's kinda like those windex commericials...a crow flies intoa window cause it is so clean from windex he can't see it there...
that wouldn't be why it flew into our window, though...
lol
so, a couple of nights ago i had a dream that i had a baby boy...
that would make two dreams now...
i wonder if they mean anything???
maybe i just need to have twins...fraternal, of course...i would love identical, will, not so much...
but back to fraternal twins...
will and i each have a hunch it is a boy...but that's all we really have is just a hunch...
will's sister is quite SURE it's a girl...and has gone as far as calling her by name...lol
(which i think is totally cute)
so, like i said...fraternal twins :)
that would be the cure-all...then we could both be right...
but i guess only time will tell...

this is amazing:
your pregnancy at 9 weeks:
How your baby's growing: Your new resident is nearly an inch long — barely the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce, but he's poised for rapid weight gain now that his basic physical structure is in place. He's also starting to look more and more human. His embryonic "tail" is now completely gone and his body parts — including organs, muscles, and nerves — are kicking into gear.

His eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. He has earlobes, and by week's end, the inner workings of his ears will be complete. His upper lip is fully formed, too, and his mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The tips of his fingers are slightly enlarged where his touch pads are developing. All major joints — his shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles — are working, enabling your baby to move his limbs. As for his heart, it has divided into four chambers now, and the valves have started to develop. External sex organs are there, but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks.

how lame...
i totally blogged yesterday and, apparently, it never showed up on my blog...that is so lame...and the worst part is that i can't even remember what i blogged about...so i can't even tell you now what i said yesterday...
HOW LAME!!!
:)
oh, well...well, do you do...
i do recall being shocked that it had been so long since i had last blogged...time flew by fast, i guess...
i am currenlt working on some recipe cards for a recipe swap i am doing for scrapbookeronline.com
they were supposed to be sent out yesterday, and, yeah, i am working on them today...trying to finish them so i can have them out tomorrow...
this is the first time i have been late on a swap...
oops...my bad...
sometime this week i should be getting lesley's and patti's journal so i have to do them fast and send them to nicole...
as of tomorrow i will be 9 weeks pregnant...how exciting...i am going in for an ultrasound on ma 23...my first one :)
i am very excited that things are going well...i have my fears, don't get me wrong...but will feels good about this pregnancy and so far it is looking good...so, YAH!!!
well, i gotta go work on those recipes...

highlight of the week...

well, here it is...my highlight of the week...
for those of you who have never watched Kim Possible cannot appreciate this like those of us who have, but...
i was at work this week, and some guy had the Kim Possible cell phone ring on his cell phone...
you know, now that i think about it, it most like the ring that plays on Kim's phone/help monitor thing whenever there is a problem in he world she has to go to...but, hey...it's all the same thing...
it was her ringtone on his cellphone...
that was my highlight...i thought it was hilarious...lol

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

i sure do love guessing games...lol
nikki had this on her blog so i thought i would give it a try...she is disappointed in her score (the same as mine) and i am ecstatic about my score...my eighth grade teacher would be so proud...i guessed 5 of the 6 i got right...lol
You Passed 8th Grade Science

Congratulations, you got 6/8 correct!
well, now...where to start...
i just dropped will off at the airport this morning...he's been here since the 9th...it has been so good to be with him for the past while...the time went by so fast...as per usual...
we went and looked at modular homes yesterday...we saw some really nice floor plans...but my favorie is still the one down in california...i am in love with that house...
we went out to Docherty's fish and chips for lunch, too...i haven't been there in years...they have the old style fish and chips that are wrapped in newspaper when you take it home...will had an order of haggis and chips and i had fish and chips...i kinda made mum and laurenne eat off my plate...will even commented that this haggis was the best he's had...i told him it would be...i love being right :)
i got to go buy some new clothes yesterday, too...i have two pairs of pants that fit me right now, so i was desperate...i got 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts...the nice thing is i got them a tiny bit big so that i can grow into them before i can really start wearing pregger clothes...
which by the way is going well, relatively speaking...i am not someone who gets nauseous, but apparently, being pregnant can change that...i have yet to actually throw up, but, man alive, eating anything makes me want to...i am beginning to think that i will be living off of ginerale and soda crackers...
my doctor is watching this pregnany closely and all my levels are rising accordingly...so that is a big bonus...of course, anything can still happen, but at least this time, it is not a blighted ovum...this time a baby is actualy developing...so, as of right now, everything is looking good...pray for us...
we are very excited about this...
i can't think of much more to say at this time...i am really tired and just emotionally kinda drained...what can i say??? it's been a rough morning...
well, i am off to go back to bed...i promise to write again soon

Monday, April 17, 2006

happy belated easter...
cause i totally suck and didn't even think to blog about it, until i was told i should have...hee hee
and now it it like almost the very end of it...
but in my defence, will has been here the past 1.5 weeks and i am trying to not be on te comp while he is here...which i am doing right now anyways...
i will blog more tomorrow about all that has been going on...

is it a sign???
i was just goofing off on ebay last night while i was on the phone with Will...shocking, that i was on the phone with him, i know, but back to my last thought...goofing off, blah blah blah, and i decided to look for the stroller that i want when we have a baby...and that is the Jeep Cherokee stroller...i have wanted one for a couple of years now...it is so great...lots of room, fun toys for the baby, cup holders...oops...off track again...
so, i find one that i want...gorgeous...only a couple of hours away from our house in CA, so we could go pick it up if we bought it...and i showed will...and i can't remember what he thoughtof it, but i loved it!!!
anyways...the only think i told him, though, was that it was not the original colour that i wanted...i wanted the green one, but the colour didn't really matter, it's just the concept...
well, i walk into the house this afternoon, here in canada, and sitting right by the door is the Jepp Cherokee stoller in...can you guess which colour??? GREEN!!! right in the living room...first thing i saw when i walked in...
i mean...what is this??? can i be??? am i pregnant and not know it??? lol...i know that last one is not true...
kari-lynn's friend is having twins right away and can't use it anymore, so asked if she wanted it...richard said yes, so they got it!!! she said she would sell it to me if i would like...lol
would i like???? heck no, i would LOVE!!!
i covet that stroller...
i should be wary of that, though...one of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not covet..."
dang commandments...hee hee
WOW!!!
so, it's been awhile since i've blogged, huh??? not as long as it took heather, though, i might add...lol
so i have this funny song in my head..."Under Pressure" by David Bowie...now in an of itself, the song is not funny, per say, it's just that all i can think about as i hum this song in my head is David Bowie as the Goblin King in Labyrinth...and i guess that is what makes it so gosh-darn funny...with his skinny little self, with the mullet of all mullets...dancing around in leotards, i do believe, but i could be remembering that part wrong...i hope i am...lol...i'll just take heather's advice..."Don't think about David Bowie in leotards. Don't think about David Bowie in leotards"...ARGHHH!!! all i can think about is David Bowie in leotards...
what a freakin' funny movie...
DANG!!! i just realized i never watched A Night at the Roxbury last night...someone had it playing on the tv in the back of the store yesterday and it made me want to watch it, and then i never did...i actually ended up going out looking for a birthday present for Solomon whose birthday is in a matter of days...hey, it's better late than never...right, Michelle???
i promise to get on that...i was actually thinking about it today, to be honest...
by the way...i saw the CUTEST baby item today, that i so would have gotten you, if i knew if you were having a boy or girl...so, if you would like to find that out for my information, i would greatly appreciate it...cause it's really hard to buy stuff for a sex-less baby...ha ha ha...i am so funny...
well, anyways...kari-lynn and aubryn are home now, dinner may be cold on the stove...
oh, but i may as well add, that if i didn't think it would come back to haunt me, i woulda lied to ups today...if they don't find the tiara that mysteriously went missing from my package, i am plum out of luck...unless the package was a gift...and i would a said it was, except that on the original invoice it clearly states 'personal item'...dang...i want them to compensate me...cause, let's think about this...they lost something that was in a zipped bag, in a sealed box, and somehow, this is not their fault and they are not responsible...now that is customer service!!!
but it is as Nikki said, "Just think, you have made some gay guy very happy at UPS as he is dancing around with your tiara on his head, singing, 'I'm a princess'"
well, if that doesn't make it ok, then i don't know what would...lol
oh, yeah...and i held a funeral for 2 of my credit cards today...i cut them up...2 of them!!! i feel so liberated...lol
i decided to put them all on 1 card with lower interest, in hopes that i can pay them off sooner...here's to hoping that works...I hope it works!!! I hope it works!!! DANG IT!!! IT BETTER WORK!!!

YAH!!!
my dress is here...in my posession!!! and that's the happy news...
the not so happy news is that somehow...still trying to figure out how...ups lost the tiara that was packed in with it...you ask me, someone at ups stole it...
but YAH!!! i have my dress...
i am so excited...
life is going pretty alright up here, overall...
solomon's birthday is in a week(ish), so i am just about to get him a present...
i sold some stuff on ebay and have had to threaten negative feedback on people cause they have yet to pay, snow is starting to melt cause it was a very sunny day today, was not feeling so hot today, so the ladies at work have decided i must be prego (meanwhile, i sit there insisting it's not possible), and spencer (my boss) pulled 2 prank calls on me today...i knew it was him on the second, though)...i wasn't so nice to him *ahem*, i mean, 'the customer' ;) ;) nudge nudge, on the first one...lol
so, i guess that is about all that is going on right now...i got a really nice clock for our house down i CA...i saw it and thought it was nice, wondered if will would like it, then he came up and saw it on his own and told me he liked it, so i bought it :)
well, i guess that is it, that is all...

HOLY SNOW!!!
so, the weather forecast called for 10 cm...now i do know the difference between 10 cm and 10 in...and that looks like 10 in...you know why??? because it IS 10 in...that would be 25 cm...and they are calling for another 10 cm tonight...so, does that mean another 25 cm???

this is some nice guys helping push a lady so she could cross the intersection...just to, of course, get stuck when she gets to the other side...this could be a good joke...
why did 3 guys push a ladies car across the street??? so she could get stuck on the other side and have another guy help her...
HA HA HA...knee slapper :)
fyi, kari-lynn and i did go to help too, but just as we started to go across the street, she got out...compliments of the guy who pushed her...
but in all seriousness, it was great to see so many people out there helping others get unstuck...we even had help getting unstucka few times...a few other times i had to do it myself...
Image hosting by Photobucket
and this is someone who decided they just didn't want to take ALL the snow off their roof...i guess they figured after taking off half, they had had enough...
Image hosting by Photobucket
have a happy saturday...and i will be staying in the house now til spring...
planning, planning, and more planning...
will and i have decided to do a small vow renewal type thing when i go back down to the usa...
the plan is that it will be just him, me. a bishop, a photographer and maybe his sister and her bf...
so, yeah, small...
this way i can wear my original dress, and we can renew our vows to each other...
the time apart has been really hard and we thought this would be a really nice way to end it...
i have been looking at photographers, though...yeah, we can't afford one...they are WAY too pricey...the cheapest we found was $650...and that would only give us 48 pics...which, really, isn't more than we would need, but it seems a lot to pay..but, who knows...
if we decide we just can't affford a photograper, will said he would do the pics...he studied photography in school, and has a fancy slr camera (just have to fix the lens)...if he just lines up the shot, we can either use a timer on the camera, or if his sister is there, she can just snap the pic...or, heck, is she knows anything about photography, she could just take the pics...or if janna happens to be good at photography, maybe she would come down and do the pics...lol
it would be a good excuse to hang out and see each other, if nothing else...hee hee
so, yeah, as i mentioned, ups found my dress...it only took 4 months...now i am in a battle with them about getting my money back for shipment...and i'm not just figting it to be mean...i mean, i really do deserve to get it back...and i know i may lose this battle, but i will not go down without a fight...and i shouldn't lose the abttle, cause i am right...ups LOST the package...that is their fault...they did not call kari-lynn OR me, to get a correct return to sender address, when they had written it down wrong, and they did not call either of us to get a return to sender authroization...that's not anybody else's fault but their own...and i know it was turned away at customs, and that is not ups's fault...and if they had returned it to kari-lynn, i would not have a valid point...but the lost it after it was turned away at customs...they did not deliever back to canada...they lost it...so, what this means, if that it is ups's fault that it got lost and was not returned, and so i deserve the money for shipment back!!!
and that is all i have to say about that...lol
have a happy day :)

seller on ebay...
i feel so cool...
i started selling some stuff on ebay...last week...and my first item listed is going to be sold tonight...
i am so excited...
it is a company's coming coolbook and the bid is currently at $6.50 usd...which is higher than when i looked this morning :)
it will be done in just under 2.5 hrs, so, who knows...maybe the price will even jump from that...
i figure i may as well make back some of the money i have spent on ebay...ha ha ha

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!
so, happy news...
UPS found my wedding dress...in MONTREAL!!!
of all places...
of course it's in Montreal...why didn't i think of that???
it's in the lost and found there...
so, we will do wedding pictures in my dress when i go back down to the USA...
i am so excited...i was almost crying when i called and told will...
i got the call just as i got out the shower...
they are going to ship it to work, so that someone will be there to sign for it and it is due to be there either tomorrow or friday...
and it better get there...or i will be MAD as heck!!!
hee hee
well, that is my happy news... :)

WINTER WONDERLAND...
it makes me want to start singing at the top of my lungs for all of Edmonton to hear...
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening??? In the lane, snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight, walking in a winter wonderland...
i mean, it only took til the middle of march to get this much snow up here (ok...FINE!!! mke me a liar for a few days...march 9)...it's still crazy!!!
but i must say, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
not so beautiful to drive in (when the car you get to drive doesn't have the best for winter tires)...but, hey, it's a car and it's better than the bus :)
so, i thought i would share a couple pics of our wonderful winter wonderland...

EBAY.COM
so, i decided to try to hand out at ebay...will and i have been talkinga obut this for awhile, and now it is time to put it into action...i have a few different items that i have bought and am going to list...
well, i managed to list 1 item successfully, YAH!!! but now i can't seem to add any other items...
how irritating...
i guess i will have to try again tomorrow...
as for other news...
we have the receipt from our first set of immigration paperwork...that means we can now send in the next set...once that is sent in, immigration will send me a letter with date/time of my interview with the US Consulate down in calgary...we are guessing that i will be able to go back to california probably mid-late may...
will has just chosen his schedule for the next year...kinda, anyways...he will be working 12am-8am at the airport...and because he has the most seniority of the night shift officers, he will get to choose which one he wants before they do...he will take whichever shift gets him all or most major holidays off...with that schedule, we should have few problems with being up here in canada for christmas!!!
i am supposed to be going to When a Stranger Calls tongiht with my friend...i have only seen her once in the last month that i have been here, so it will be really nice to hang out with her...
life is good, overall...
snow is coming down like there is no tomorrow and like it is making up for lost time :)
it really is beautiful...we have had some beautiful weather here, even with the snow...
all is well...things are working out great!!!

it's the BIG DAY!!!
will is arriving today is just under 5 hours...but who's counting??? lol
he is only going to be up for a few days, but it will be so nice to see him...
as i look back on the month, it's funny that each day seemed to go by slowly, but overall, it went by fast...which is, of course, exactly what we want...
i can hardly believe a month has already gone by...the sad part is, though, that the paperwork is already taking longer than expected...so, we are hoping that it will pick up the pace in the final process...
hopefully, when he gets home, the 2nd set of paperwork will be able to be sent in...he can't send the 2nd set in, until he gets a receipt saying he sent in the 1st one....and he is still waiting for that...
so, hopefully, it will be there when he gets home...and then he can send it off...
well, that is it for now...
i know i have been horrible about blogging this past week...i guess there was just nothing interesting to say...
well, have a good one and i will see you again later...
p.s. i'm sure i'm the only one that notices this, but, i didn't really post this at 7:31...it was 8:31...for whatever reason i can't set the correct time according to where i am...so, it was 7:31 in california, but 8:31 here in edmonton...so, my point being, that he arrives in just under 5 hours from 8:31 :)

it's SNOWING!!!
Image hosting by Photobucket
ok, so it's kindof a pitiful amount of snow, but i can't afford to be picky about that right now...i'm just excited that it's snowing!!!
there's probably enough snow on the whole street to make one small snowman about 6" tall...hee hee
or enough to pack it into a suitcase (along with dry ice, of course) and send it down to my sister from another mother (aka sis-in-law, christine) in california...
well, that is it for now...i am getting ready to go to work for the day...so not excited about that, but, hey, gotta pay for plane tickets somehow... :)

circle journal...
so, back on dec. 31, i joined a website called scrapbookeronline.com
yes, you guessed right, it is all about scrapbooking...
well, there are all kinds of things you can do on this site...you can post pages that you have done, get ideas from other scrappers, swap different scrappy stuff, etc...
well, one swap that happens is called a circle journal...
that is where however many people who want to will say that they want to participate...so, in this case, 13...each person will choose a theme they want for their journal...you do an instruction page, sign-in page and a page to start your journal...
well, i decided to join one of these cj (circle journal) groups...called Sistas Around the World Circle Journal...
every month, on the 15th, the journal gets mailed out to the next person on the list...then, in 13 months, we will all get our journal back filled with other ladies' layouts according to the chosen theme...
the reason i am tell you all this, is cause i have just finished mine...well, maybe...tell me what you think...
instruction page...i think i need to add stuff to jazz it up, but i don't know what yet...
Image hosting by Photobucket
it says...
Places to go, people to see
Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon??? Did you do a trail ride on a mule???
Have you been to Taiwan and seen kids running around on the beaches???
What about the Eiffel Tower??? Have you ever been there???
Do you live in a quaint little town that has an annual fair that you always go to???
This is what I want my journal to consist of...the places you have gone and the people you have seen...
It does not matter to me what kind of materials you use, or anything as such, all I ask if that you do a two-page layout.
That is it, that is all...
HAVE FUN!!!
this is the sign-in tags page...everybody chooses a tag and decorates it as they wish, as long as it identifies themselves...
Image hosting by Photobucket
and this is my actual 2-page layout...kari-lynn helped me to get it started...i could not think of how to decorate it...

started work yesterday...
fun! fun! fun!
i work at XS cargo as a cashier...it is a discount clearance place...
the one reason i don't like working there, is cause they have such great deals and cool stuff, and i don't want to buy anything, cause i need to save my money...hee hee
it's alright...i started yesterday and i can handle most of the till process by myself...i definitely still call for help. though, sometimes...
the plan is that most mon-fri, i will work 10-3...then i will leave and go pick up my niece, aubryn, from school for 3:30...then i come home and tidy up and make dinner...it's a pretty sweet deal...i may work later today, though, don't know yet...rich has the day off so he will pick up aubryn and then if spencer is ok with me leaving at 4ish, then rich will come get me...otherwise, i may be there til 5 or 6...i'll find out when i get a phone call...
so, that really all is that is new...
are you reading this will and heather???

Sunday, February 05, 2006

well, to be honest there is not a whole lot going on here since i got up here...
i saw my doctor re. the miscarriage i had...she has recommeneded that i keep my appt. with the obgyn and tell her all about my family history and see if they can do any testing...
Nytz, my pet bearded dragon is so big now...she is a lot less skitsish, too...when i pick her up, i can actually feel her in my hands now...she actually has weight to her now...it' actually kinda weird...she's so cool, but i think will would beg to differ...hee hee
i am starting work tomorrow with my bro-in-law...i will be working in the am as a cashier, then go pick up my niece from school, come home and cook dinner...
will and i are going to be sealed in the temple this next january...so, i have started looking at simple wedding dresses that i can get...i do have a certain style picked out, and i am going to go to Sposabella on wednesday and actually try on a dress of the same style so i can see how it looks on my...if you want to see the style i am looking at, go to www.eternitystore.com and look up style 8012...that is the style i am going to try this week at the store...see how it looks on me...
not much else going on...
it has been very very hard being away from will...i knew it would be hard, cause it was hard when we were engaged, but this is definitely harder...i always tried to not take things for granted, like having it with me all the time, but now that i don't have it, it's amazing how much i miss it...i miss holding his hand, i miss seeing his beautiful smile, i miss the way he strokes my hair...it's so hard...but the one thing that keeps me going is his knd, familiar, reassuring voice, that it is only temporary and he will be up visiting soon...
p.s. i totally just tried to make this post all colourful like my other posts, and apparently, i can't so that on this computer...:( that is so sad...

goin' back to canada...
not much to say here...
especially since i am running around like a chiecken with my head cut off trying to get everything done...i am infamous for leaving things to the last minute...and this is no exception...
so, as of 11:00 pm wednesday night, i will officially be back in edmonton...
i am going to miss will...i don't know how i will go every day without him...i can hardly wait to see him when he comes up to visit...

Thursday, January 26, 2006

it wasn't meant to be...
"Sometimes God uses women to house angels until he has room for them to come back to heaven. You had an angel in your womb but it was time for it to go home."
"God is taking care of you guys and He has your little one in His hands."
these were, i think, the most wonderful words i could have been told...this has been one of the hardest things for me to go through...physically and emotionally...
i can safely say that much of my comfort comes from these words, offered to me by friends...
my other comfort comes from the amazing support of my wonderful husband...he has taken such great care of me...he held me in his arms as i cried and cried and cried some more...he bought me a heating pad for the cramping in my stomach and back...he brought me breakfast in bed...he even kept the bedroom door closed so Shawnessy wouldn't get in and wake me up...he took two days off work to look after me...and i can say is that i would not have survived yesterday if it was not for him staying home with me...
the pain is finally starting to subside, but it is far from gone...
the rest of my comfort comes from knowing that things happen for a reason...i may never know the reason, but God does...he knows why he needed our little baby back with him...
all i need to remember is that it happened for a reason...

padded room, here i come...
ok, seriously...i don't know how i do it...stay alive, that is...
a week or two b4 the wedding i burned my hand...honestly, i can't recall what i burned it on, but it burned bad enough to blister and peel and you know, see that i was doofusy enough to burn myself...
a couple days ago i am putting dinner in the pre-heated, very hot (450 f, to be precise) oven when i pressed my arm against the oven door...while i was on the phone!!! but since i was on the phone with my mother, no especially choice words were spoken...or screamed!!!
then today...oh, today...i am opening the bathroom door, and i somehow hit my toe with the edge of the door, which in pain, thrusts my upper body...namely the chestal area, into the edge of the door, which then, in pain, also thrusts my face into the edge of the door...namely the eye...
i am serious...how do i survive??? how am i not dead or permanently in special care...seeing as i am indeed SPECIAL!!!
and all i can do is laugh!!! because we all know that even if i were in a padded room, i would still somehow manage to hurt myself...even if i was walking to the door which would be opened for me, i would trip and hurt my ankle...or...OOOH OOOH!!! how about this scenario...i am sitting...always (never allowed to stand)...i would rock back and forth in boredom and fall backwards hitting my head on the floor...(if it were padded, though, it may not hurt, but i may twist my back in a weird position when i fall)...
it's just the type of thing i would do...
lol
so, i've been hearing rumors...
that it is FREEZING cold in edmonton...which, admittedly, makes me less and less want to come back...
so, i decided to check it out for myself...
today, a high of -6c (21.2f) with a low of -12c (10.4f)...
ok...i admit...it is colder than fresno, today, high of 12c (53.6f) with a low of 1c (33.8f)...but that is NOT freezing cold...lol
don't get me wrong...i don't doubt i will be wearing a toque, mitts and winter coat and wimpering my pretty little butt off, but that's only cause i am very aclimatized to fresno weather...which even i am willing to use the heater all day in...
i just have always laughed at how wimpy we as canadians are when it comes to the cold...i mean, i don't think -30c (-22f) is all that terrible if there is no wind...but give me -12c (10.4f) with a wind and i will cry...i just think it's funny how we always cry about how cold it is, and how "you need to bundle up out there, dear...it's frigid" (we've all heard it before) and i walk out the door taking my coat off as i walk...cause it's so not frigid!!! lol
anyhoo...maybe i will be singing a different note when i get there after being in CA for 6 months...i'm excited to come home, see friends and family again...but so sad to be leaving Will...i don't know how i will survive not being with him every day...

Hello, Krystin!
Your baby isn't much bigger now than last week in actual size — another quarter inch at most — but that's almost double what he was last week. He's now the size of a raspberry. If you had a window into your womb, you'd notice his eyelids forming, the tip of his nose developing, and his distinct, slightly webbed fingers and toes.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

so, holy craziness...
this week will and i went down to put me on his insurance so i could start seeing an obgyn...well, it turns out i won't be on his insurance til feb. 1...yeah, when i go home...
so, i decided to book an appt with my obgyn up there...yeah, i can't get in til mar. 8...
how crazy is that...i'll be something like 14 weeks pregnant b4 i get to see an obgyn about being prego...how crazy is that??? don't they normally want to see you at 8 weeks???
oh, well, what do you do???
and the thing that sucks is that i had an appt with an obgyn down here for tomorrow or thursday, but since it apparently takes will's insurance company 2 weeks to type my name in the computer, that just wouldn't work...so i had to cancel...
other than that, life is good...
shawnessy is sick...poor girl...she has a chronic ear infection...so, every day for the rest of her life we have to clean out and medicate her ears...she's sleeping now...ever since i brought her home...put her blanket down in the laundry room and wrapped her up in it...she looks so sweet...and she is sound asleep...poor baby...
anything else new???
not really...
going back to edmonton feb. 1 for about 3 months...hopefully less, though...by being up there i will be missing valentine's day, solomon's birthday and his baptism (if it is right away) and possibly will's birthday...i am hoping that i will be able to be with him then...i so don't want to miss that...
i can't really think of anything else that is going on, so for now, i guess that is all...

weekly update...
This week, your baby is about the size of a small lentil bean. Her (or his) brain, muscles, and bones are beginning to take shape. Her (or his) hands and feet resemble little paddles, with thick webbing still in place between her (or his) developing fingers and toes. And her (or his) tiny heart has begun beating. Though you probably won't actually feel anything for another ten weeks or so, she's (or he's)about to make her (or his)very first movements.

Wednesday, January 04, 2006

weekly update i get...
Hello, Krystin! Your baby is now 1 to 2 millimeters long — about the size of a sesame seed — and enjoying his (or her) first huge growth spurt. He (or she) still resembles a tadpole more than anything else, but already the cells for his ( or her) vital organs, including his (or her) kidneys and liver, are forming, and this week his (or her) heart will begin beating. (bracketed her/she is compliments of me...i don't know if it's a boy, and it just seems wrong to call it a he is it's a she...talk about identity crisis!!!) lol
i can't believe it will already have a heartbeat...that seems so crazy soon...
so...can you guess what day yesterday was???
it was our one month anniversary...
i can hardly believe it...it has gone by so stinkin' fast...it's weird to think that i last saw my family 1 month ago, i was getting all dolled up a month ago, i was standing (freezing my butt off) by the ocean a month ago...which i might add, may not be a bad idea right now...i could handle a little less butt...lol
i last saw will wearing a kilt a month ago...
it's all so amazing to me...we have been married 1 whole month...and that is SOOOOOOO cool...
i love it!!!
i loved being proposed to...i loved being engaged...i loved planning our perfect little wedding...i love being married...and i love being pregnant...
"SAY WHAT???", screams JannaBanana, as she skips back and re-reads the fine print, again and again..."you're pregnant???"
yes, it is a true story...
we found out on the night of Jan 1/06...(happy new year to us)
we had our suspicions, but this is when it was confirmed...how great is that???
we are, of course, praying for the best...there is a history of miscarriages in our family, and we know it is something we may face...but we are hoping, and praying, that we will not...that by some miracle, this pregnancy will be problem-free...
i pray every night for my sister who is pregnant...
the best part is that we are about 12 weeks apart from each other...
mk, i believe is due mid-late june...i am due early sept...
it's kinda funny...i notice that i am hungry ALL the time...and i love it!!!
no weird cravings as of yet, no morning sickness...but every so often i do get so dizzy so quickly that i have to just lie down on the floor...no questions asked...on the floor...
well, anyways...i gotta go now...i have to go to the store and pick up some carpet freshner and probably some prego vitamins w/folic acid in them...
keep you all posted, course...

where's NOAH when you need him???
holy heck...well, i guess it is the season for winter storms...and it's most definitely not your typical canadian winter snow storm...nope, it is a rain storm...
we have so much rain, that it has flooded from our patio area into our garage...i had to go in and put anything fabric above ground...luckily, a lot of stuff is stored in plastic containers, so, i just put stuff on top of those...
it is so crazy...it's been raining most of yesterday, all night, and all day today until about 7 pm...
raods are crazy, too...i was one of the slower moving vehicles last night to go pick up will and even i was sliding around in spots...
there was one mini van that gunned it through a puddle right in front of us and as she got into it, she realized how deep it was...it was DEEP...and she had to hit her brakes, water was spewing everywhere...it was nuts!!!
so, anyways...yeah, we are about ready to build ourselves an ark...
it's even flooding into our back hallway...it's coming up under the carpet...i have towels on the floor right now and i am stepping on them to soak up the water, and i am sure i will be doing that all day...then when the rain stops, IF the rain stops 2nite at 7 like they say it should, i will be bringing our fans out to try and dry it up a bit...i will be washing/drying towels all day, so i don't run out and can keep putting them down on the floor...
wish me luck!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
we aren't quite there yet in our time zone, but i am hoping to be asleep by then, so i am typing it in...doesn't really matter anyways, cause we are almost dead last to get to midnight anyways, so, it will be new years for you if you are reading it now, or it will be the new year when you read it in the morning...
all i am going to say is this...this is my new year's advice...
go be the best person you can be this year...improve yourself in as many ways as you feel like, and if you fall down, pick yourself right back up and keep going...if you miss the gym one day, go the next day...if you weren't as kind to yourself one day, be doubley kind to yourself the next...make your life better, make who you are better, love yourself more, do more acts of kindness, swallow just a bit more pride than you are used to, smile a little more, say "I Love You" and show it by your actions, say a prayer for somebody, call that friend you haven't talked to in ages (who you really miss), make a special dinner just for you (and your spouse/significant other)...and DAGNABIT!!! pat yourself on the back once in awhile...you deserve it!!! and you know you do...let's make our world a better and happier place to live!!!
HAVE A HAPPY, SAFE AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!
what'd we get for christmas???
well, will got me the best thing ever!!! i knew what i was for a couple of reasons...1) i saw it about 2 days after i came to california 2) i wrapped it for me from him...lol
it is a Team Canada jacket from the '04 olympics...it actually matches, i do believe, to the '04 olympics pants i bought...it is basically one of the last olympic clothing made by roots, now that hudson's bay company is doing it...which, ironically, is now owned by an american company...so, the americans are going to make the canadian olympics uniforms now...
for him, i got him a Team Canada hockey jersey from the '02 olympics...now, me, him and sol have a jersey...
(i would post pics, but something funky is up with our printer, and that is where i insert the memory card, so, until we figure out what is wrong with the printer, i cannot post pics)
from his family we got, a new crockpot, decoarative jars of peppers, cooking utensils from our registry, can opener from our registry, towels from our registry, garbage can from our registry, black hawk down dvd (for will), body lotions from victoria's secret (for me, obviously)
it was a great day, and all we did was relax since will was sick...christmas with his family ws on dec. 17th...
you know, he apologized to me for having such a lame christmas...i was just glad to be with him on christmas day...it was our first christmas together...we just finished paying for a wedding...i didn't care that there wasn't hundreds of dollars worth of stuff under the tree...we didn't have the money to do that, we don't really need it anyways, and i was just happy to be with him for christmas...he is so special to me, and this was the best christmas ever!!!
i am so ready to kick the computer...
now, i know, some of you may think this is violent behaviour, that maybe i should take anger management classes for, but DAGNABIT!!! it's driving me bonkers...
"why???" you ask...
do i really need a legitimate answer, or can it just be an answer???
our spyware subscription just expired a couple of days ago, apparently, and that spyware is very handy to have unexpired, i have come to realize...you don't even realize what it does until it stops doing it when it expires...
i've been signed out of everything, so now i have to resign in all the time (even my blog)...and then it pops up security warnings all the time forcing me to not just be able to go into hotmail, but i have to say "NO, I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR STUPID CERTIFICATE OF SAFETINESS OR WHATEVER IT IS!!! I JUST WANT TO SEE MY EMAIL!!!" :-)
anger issues, sorry...
and, i can't even sign into theknot.com...i know, how sad is this, but these are my bride buddies from canada and they are asking me questions, personally, like actually saying, calicandiangrl, have you found out yet...??? and i can't answer them...they probably think i have died or gone away without telling them, which nobody does, or that i'm being totally rude by not answering...which is the least likely to be though...
but, either way, i am weeping, wailing and gnashing my teeth cause i can't talk to them...i even tried signing up with a different name and stuff, and it just won't let me into the site to do anything...i can look at the conversations, and i can see they are trying to talk to me, but i can't respond...and that is killing me!!!
oh, well...what do you do???
i think i will go back to bed to start...it is 6:10am right now...i got up, well, forced up, at 5:06am to make will's breakfast and lunch (which is normally willingly do, but 2day i just didn't want to get out of my nice, warm, very comfy bed), so, what did will do, stole my covers...many times, cause i kept stealing them back...he's not very good at stealing them and keeping them away from me...lol
i will probably restart my day around 10am, so, maybe i will write more later to compensate for the lack of writing in the past week...
toodles...
fyi...just so you know, it did not take my 8 mins to write these last couple paragraphs, from 6:10 to 6:18, it took me a while to publish post cause i have to re-read and fix typos...

no longer a 'virgin'...
will had the fabulous chance for the first time in his life to take Buckley's cough syrup...
oh, boy...did that ever go over well...
i heard about it the next morning...
"that is the grossest stuff i have ever tasted...and it's not only the taste, it's the consistency...it's like drinking snot!!!"
"did it work?" i asked
"you know, i have to admit, it did work"
so, to say the least, when he took it again last night, he mixed it with honey...but was tempted to mix 7/8 honey to buckley's rather than the suggested 1/2...
will is no longer a Buckley's virgin... :)

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...
OR NOT!!! lol
it was 21 c yesterday...but from what i hear, it is supposed to be about 6 c today in edmonton...nice day...not christmas weather...i want to go up to Lake Tahoe or Shaver Lake...there should be snow there...
well, as you know we are 2 days away, and i am getting quite excited...having troubles containing myself in re. to unwrapping presents...i REALLY want to unwrap presents...
will is home sick today, poor guy...he even tried taking Buckley's last night...apparently, it is the worst tasting cough medicine he has ever taken...no arguments here...
kids are going home today, will should be back to work tomorrow depending on how he feels, i will, hopefully, be at work with him on christmas day...
life is good and grand and i am super excited for christmas!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
okay, maybe it's a little early for the rest of you, but will's family is doing christmas today...we filled the kid's stockings last night and sol woke up and was so excited that santa made a special trip...
scammers (camille) has yet to get out of bed, but it is only 7 am...i was up at 5:45 and sol was up before me...crazy kid!!!
probably in the next hour i will be waking up scammers and head off to grandma's house...that means i have to get the other kid's stocking stuffers, all their christmas presents, my salad bowl and salad making food all together so i can take it over today...then will is getting off early so he can be there too...he is only doing 5 out of 10 hrs, so i will leave linda's to pick him up at 11:30...
on another note, my birthday was good...nothing really too special...michelle called me first, but i predicted that (and that's easy to do, since she is 3 hrs ahead)...i was out taking will to work so i had to cell her back when i got home...mum called next while i was on the phone to michelle, so i talked to mum for a bit...then i hung out...i went and bought dog food, stocking stuffers for will, and then some groceries...
i came home and cleaned and made my birthday brownies, and linda also called me and sang happy birthday to me and kari-lynn sent me 5 birthday e-cards...that made me feel very special... then scammers came home and then i picked up sol...i went and picked up will and then we came home and i made tacos for dinner...
scammers sent me a birthday e-card while i was picking up will, and sent another one after dinner asking if we could eat the brownies...lol...she REALLY wanted brownies...
they were brownies with walnuts and chocolate icing, with crushed both mint and cherry candy canes, mini choc. turtles and crushed toffee bits (like skor)... SKRUMMY!!!
i will try to post pics here...
this is obviously my birthday brownies...

we did a really neat thing today...
will and i went to his great-grandparent's and grandmother's grave today and placed our remaining wedding flowers on their graves...
it was a nice way for me to see what they looked like (pictures on tombstone) and learn a bit about them...and to share with them a piece of our wedding...
it was a very unique and wonderful experience...the flowers looked so pretty next to their names...

my favorite part of christmas is...
wrapping presents...
i couldn't really tell you why, but i love wrapping presents...i already have all the presents wrapped...for his family, my family (those are even sent out), and our little family...
i want to buy more presents just so i can keep wrapping them...lol
and not only that, but i can wrap anything...so not joking...any shape, any size, i can figure out how to wrap it...i just LOVE wrapping presents...
so, there it is...my favorite part of christmas...
oh, and here is a pic of our christmas tree...
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
and our mantle...(i am still hoping to be able to add garland, but i don't know if i will this year...)

(p.s. i have no idea why one picture is bigger than the other...)
i hate UPS...
every time i think of them and the wedding dress i could have had...that i paid over $1000 for...i get so angry and near tears...
i got a letter in the mail today saying they lost it and i have to fill out this claim form to get money back...well, since it wasn't insured, we will get shipment $$$ back...woo-freakin-hoo!!!
you know, even if i had been the one to actually mail it, i wouldn't have though to insure it...i mean, it's UPS...if it was the mail, heck ya!!! insure the package...but you think you can trust ups...
and not only that...they always ask if you want to insure it if you go into the station to mail it, so why don't they ask when they come pick it up???
i think we should sue them...
but that is just my personal. humble and well-respected opinion...

a second attempt at showing...
MY DREAM HOUSE
so, i tried to post the actual pictures right here, but they would not reduce in size no matter what i did, so i decided to try linking them instead...
the first one is the floor plan that i am in love with...i love everything about it and i want to have this house...it is 4 bdrm with potential to be 5...
fyi, if we were to have this house built, we would use the opt. bath in the master...

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a62/kkahle2b4ever/floorplan1.jpg

the second one is the floor plan that is my second favorite...it is only 3 bdrm and is more expensive...

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a62/kkahle2b4ever/floorplan2.jpg

what do you think???

Friday, December 09, 2005

alright alright...
i'll do a new post, too...
i told michelle on her blog that it was time for a new posting...she had not posted anything btwn sun and thurs...well, she listened to me and posted...
well, she just told me it was time for a new post...i guess i haven't posted anything btwn last thursday and today...but in my defense, i was out of town for 5 of those days... :)
well, i am in the process of uploading the few pics i do have on my camera...
you see, i forgot to pack one thing and one thing only...the charger for my camera...and apparently, i had very little battery life in it...so, i had to severely limit my picture taking on my camera...which is really too bad cause i want to see pictures REALLY badly...ask Kari-Lynn...lol
the wedding was perfect!!!
it was quite chilly outside because of the wind and we were right next to the ocean...
we had a lot of positive feedback about the bagpiper we hired...he did a fabulous job...
we had it videotaped by a friend who does that for a living...so we know that we will get quite high quality...he videotaped just the ceremony, not the reception...
sadly, i do not think we will have much of any reception pictures...i don't remember any camera flashes there except for the cake cutting...
since it was so cold out and we had NO time between ceremony and reception, we only got a few pictures taken...we were going to do them the next day, but will hurt his knee and wasn;t up for it...so, we were going to do them the next day, but he had forgotten and he had not shaved and to do that would have taken forever (trust me)...so, i am quite disappointed about that...i really wish we ahd got some pictures...we are going to hire somebody in the future to do some formals of us, and i am thinking that sometime when we come up home, we can get family pics taken...kl and i bought some gift cert. for a photography place up there for cheap that will get us no sitting fee and a free pic, so we could probably use that, too...we will seea bout all that though...
all in all, it was a great day...so much, in fact, that i want to do it again...
well, i will try to post a few pics in my next posting, and then when i have the good ones, i will post them too...

as ready as i can be...
so, i think i have about as much done as i can...i have the last few travel arrangements to figure out, but that is it...
i did the special pages for the guest book yesterday, i picked up the favor bags (i am going to have help assembling them in monterey, i think...i don't want to get them all ready and then try to pack and not squish 50 favor bags), i made the dinner cards, i asked aunt sherry and aunt linda to take care of putting the flowers on the cake, as well as take special pics of me walking down the aisle and stuff ( since my photographer is also my matron of honor), mili and shawn are going to pick up the flowers and bring them to monterey, linda (will's mum) is going to pick up both the groom's cake and wedding cake and bring it out friday night...she will also be the one telling people where to stand for the ceremony, christine (will's sister) and bria (his niece) will be doing my hair and make-up, mum made all the bridesmaid dresses, i've just about got all the stuff together that has to go with us to monterey (favors, the secret lingerie, guest book, rings, christmas presents)...you know, all the stuff needed...
funnies...when doing invites, i asked will who from work he wanted to invite...we invited shawn and his family, bobby and his family, sgt. casto and sgt. medina, rick and sam and his family...well, all but sam and his family are coming...plus a few others who decided they wanted to come, too...so, apparently, bart and his wife will be there and rich and his wife may be there (pending they may have to attend in-laws mother's funeral)...so, our final count is 43-45...
i am going to have my nails done today...french manicure...the one thing that sucks, though is that i tried SO freakin' hard not to break any nails so they would all be the same length...and what happens 1 & 2 days b4 my appointment, yeah, 2 nails broke...they didn't break right down to the skin, though, so hopefully it will be okay...
well, wish me luck...i'd say tell me to break a leg, but a friend already joked about how if she said that and i actually fell walking down the aisle and did break my leg...yea, funny... :)
well, as is now custom, i will post the wedding weather update in the next post...heck, i'll just put it in this post...
wedding weather update...
current weather forecast for Sat. Dec. 3 in Monterey, CA
sunny, high 13 c, low 4 c
