well, a whole lot has gone of since I last posted...apparently I haven't posted in 12 days...or something like that...
where does the time go???
ewll, this past Saturday, so a week ago tomorrow, I went to a 25th wedding anniversary party for Will's Aunt and Uncle...it was a lot of fun...Christine took some really great photos of me and Scott...I have so few pics of us together since I am always the one taking pictures...so I figured that I should get some of us taken...I will post a couple of them here 9 as well as on Scott's blog...
it was a Hawaiian themed party and we were supposed to dress Hawaiian, which basically everyone did except me...I have a severe lackage of Hawaiian clothes...meaning I have none...but Scott did wear a Hawaiian shirt...and he looked so dang cute...I am sure he would have won the Hawaiian shirt contest had I not taken it off and changed him just before the contest...way to go, Mum!!! lol

we had a blackout last night...it lasted anywhere from 6-10 hrs...I know that is a large time span, but I know when I got up at 2:15am the power was not back on yet, and when I got up at 6:15, it was on...it went out around 8pm...we figure either it was a rolling blackout (where power goes out in different partsof the city after each other because of the large amount of a/c being used) or a car accident that hit a transformer...right after the power went out, we did hear a bunch of sirens, and when Will went to work, he saw 3 service trucks fixing the transformer near our place...our entire complex was out, and I don't know how much area around us was also...luckily, we'd had our a/c on, so our house was on the cooler side (74 f), but we, along with many other people in the complex) decided it best to go out to the pool and cool off...we stayed out there from about 8:30-10...we tuckered Scott out in there, took him in and changed him into a diaper, grabbed him a bottle (all done by candlelight, I might add), wrapped him in a blanket and he fell asleep by the pool while Will was still in there...it was nice to sit out there I must say...
during the night when I had to get up to make him a bottle, I had to use the flashlight to see what I was doing...
so I guess that is about the excitement in our lives...
I crazy have to load the dishwasher tonight, I have to get some scrapbooking done, I have to fold all the alundry that I have washed...ugh, I feel like I will never cath up...how do people do it...I feel like just as soon as I get into a groove of being able to juggle baby and housework, I will be pregnant again...fyi, I have yet to find that groove (so this is not an 'I am pregnant' announcement) :)
so, yeah, that is our life...
I guess I will continue to keep you updated...

what can I tell you about life here???
It is crazy wicked hot here...it was 92 f today (33 c) and is supposed to be 95 f tomorrow and Saturday (35 c)...that's just way too hot!!! But when it comes down to it, it's not as bad as August will be...August has a nasty habit of being as much as 111 f (44 c)...being from Canada, that is really hard to handle...I remember the first summer I came down here in '05 in August...the hottest day was 107 f (42 c)...I couldnot breathe outside when it was that hot...I seriously stayed indoors as much as possible with the A/C on...
when we were in NY at Michelle's, they were discussing building a house and I had to laugh when Tony asked Michelle how important it was to her to have central air in the house...she said it wasn't that important...which up there, I understand why it's not a big deal to have. It's like in Canada...not a big deal...but living in California makes you LOVE LOVE LOVE a/c...let me tell you :)
I spent a bunch of time last night looking at temple dresses again online...I can hardly wait til I get to go buy one and wear it...
so, did I ever tell you that it felt like I had a pinched nerve in my arm??? well, it turns out I do indeed have a pinched nerve, but it's in my neck...and it travels down my arm...I think that is what the chiropractor said...either way, it hurts and i am so sick of it...
we had a really good long weekend...it was the Memorial Day long weekend and my sil, Christine had rented a campground site up at Bass Lake for the weekend...we had pretty much decided not to go cause we would have the kids, and Will and I had some stuff to do, but Will decided on Sunday afternoon that he wanted to go up...so, we piled intot he car and made the drive...it was so nice...I have not been to the lake in so long...Scott got to go into the lake for the first time ever and I will tell you that he is definitely a much bigger fan of a warm bathtub than a lake...even when it is only his feet in the lake...I am trying to decide if he just didn't like the fact that it was cold or if the waves washingup onto his feet scared him...cause he seemed to be find just standing there until the waves started coming...but, of course, being on shore, the waves were small...
we were going to just drive home later Sunday night, but everyone wanted us to stay, so they gave us spare blankets and found us all a spot to sleep...Scott was up at 5:15am on Monday...way to exhaust me...
by the way, i am about to put pics of the weekend on Scott's blog, so check it out :)
I decided to join facebook after Janna basically asked me to...
I am always asked to join these different sites, and I never do, but I decided to this time...I haven't kept in great contact with Janna (bad bad Krystin) so I figured this would maybe help me keep in better touch...
I am so glad I joined...I have found so many old friends from church growing up, high school and friends from YSA in Edmonton...crazy amounts of old friends are just popping out of the woodworks...it is awesome!!!
Brittany is on there, too...Brittany told me that facebook was maybe even more addicting that blogger...boy, was she right...I am always there checking it out :)
anyways, so much fun...
life is great...
loving it!!!

ok, so I know I just changed my music video on here a couple of days ago, but I was just browsing around at some stuff and found this one...
this one is doen by my favourite comedian, Bill Engvall...him and Jeff Foxworthy are really the only two stand-up comedians I like...for the most part, I don't find them funny...but Bill cracks me up...the first time I ever saw a video of his, I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe....just ask Will...
so, anyways, just make sure you scroll down and watch this video...trust me, it's worth it :)

You Are A Lily

You are a nurturer and all around natural therapist.
People see you as their rock. And they are able to depend on you.
You are a soothing influence. You can make people feel better with a few words.
Your caring has more of an impact than even you realize.

Okay, so I am just going to start off with an apology for seriously procrastinating an update of everything that has gone on in the past couple of weeks...
I have been trying to unpack, clean my house, and just get organized...
I am currently uploading all my pics and videos from my trip, so while that is being done, I will write of what has gone on...
alright, what has gone on???
well, 2 weeks ago...actually, I guess it was 3 weeks ago, I headed out to go to NY...now the days I was flying out did not coordinate with Will's schedule, so I stayed a few days before I left for Ny at my sil's up by Sacramento...now a whole lot went on for those few days...we went shopping one night, I watched a bazillion movies while she (my sil) was working, we went out for dinner...just really hung out and enjoyed each other's company...
on Sat. 28, we (Scott and I) flew out of Sacramento to Syracuse...we had to be there at a ridiculous hour of day (6 am, I think)...I tell ya, that infant carrier was a lifesaver...we flew into Chicago and had a small layover there...on the way there we watched the movie, The Holiday...it was an interesting movie...really weird how it was done...unfortunately, it took me a while to figure it out cause I had missed the first few minutes with taking care of Scott...his first plane ride was really good...he didn't sleep on take-off but the increase in air pressure didn't seem to bother him...
when we arrived in Chicago, the place was huge!!! I had to walk from one terminal to another (must've been the other side of the airport) and they had one of those moving walkways and had really neat lights on the ceiling above it...
we didn't have to wait long before boarding to go to Syracuse...and it was a much shorter flight...we arrived safe and sound and it was so great to see Michelle and Madisyn waiting for us at the gate...she was so grown up...yes, Michelle, I'm talking about you...lol
hee hee, nah, Madisyn was so grown up...we traded babies immediately...Michelle was saying how Scott's pictures do him no justice...that's he's so much cuter thant he pictures...I must agree :)
we got my bags and then headed to Babies 'R Us...I love it there...we got some really cute clothes for him there...we then went to Wendy's and headed home...
one thing that was great about being there (among many things) were that Madisyn has LOTS of toys...I have been struggling to figure out toys to buy Scott cause there are well, only 1 toy he likes...but being there, he got to play with all kinds of toys and now I know what he likes :)
this was by far his favourite toy...

a couple of days later, Kari-Lynn came with Maigan...they flew into Ottawa and since I cannot cross the border, Tony and Scott and I just hung out at home that day...it was so great to see all of them together...
all the babies are basically the same size...which is impressive since Scott is 4 months younger than Maigan and 5.5 months younger than Madisyn...Scott is a bit shorter, though...
Kari-Lynn did a couple of photo shoots of the babies and the pics turned out so good...we had so much "fun" trying to get them to sit still...lol
on Wednesday, we got to go to Watertown to meet SBO ladies...it was so much fun...we got to meet Julie-Ann, Marti, Kristin, Rachel and Patti...Marti was gracious enough to let us all meet at her house...they were all so wonderful and we had such a great time :)
on the way out, we got in a smallish car accident...it totally sucked, but at least nobody was hurt...and that is what is important :)
poor Madisyn had an awful fever for the first few days...she did go to the dr. one day and came home with suckers for her cousins...well, it was the first sucker that either of her cousins had ever had...
I'd show you a pic, but it's kinda blurry...oh, well...KL probably has a better one to email me...ah, heck, I'll show you anyways...

other things we did during the week...
we went for a walk and ended up hanging out at the park...we saw a wooden train play set in someone's backyard...so cool...kids went on the swings (first time for Scott) and it was super cute!!! they had so much fun laughing and smiling...I love how in this picture he is sucking his thumb...the child has a total addiction...and it is proven in this picture...

we got pictures taken on them at Walmart, too...we got them mathcing outfits...well, as matching as they could be considering there were 2 girls and a boy :) I think one of the funniest parts of that experience was the photo ladies thinking that Scott was the one who could sit and the girls could not sit yet...which really is only funny to us who know that it is the exact opposite...but th pics turned out so cute and I cannot wait to get them...we got one package of all of them together which we are going to split up between us and then each ordered a package of our own kids...
another thing I loved about NY is all the dollar stores...I'm not a cheapo or anything, but you just gotta love dollar stores...I spent so much money in there...especialy in the scrapbook sections...
we bought homemade licorice by the Amish (and it is super yummy)...I know I am totally jumping around here, but I tend to be kinda scatter-brained...lol
the next day we spent the morning in the mall in Watertown and then they took me to the airport...it was sad to leave...we had so much fun and it was so great to see them again...
Scott had a great plane trip home...just as we were about to land, I struck conversation with a couple of people on the plane sitting behind me who were members of the church...I ahd heard them talking about church related things (Young Women's camp, the temple) and as I stood up, started conversation with them telling them that I was LDS, too...turns out the man served his mission with a man from Edmonton...who I know...and there was another man in his zone also from Edmonton who I also know...how funny is that???
I meet a man on an airplane from CA, who knows two men from my home in Canada that I know...the church makes the world so small...
Christine, Collin and my MIl picked me up at the airport...
they bought me a matching bling phone cover...so, all three of us have the same phone with the same bling cover (well, my bling is a little different cause they couldn't get the same colours) but it's still the same...
they also bought Scott the shoes I almost bought in NY for him and some sunglasses and swim clothes (which I have put in and taken out of my cart a few times at Target)...lol
this is him with the sunglasses...

on Sunday, we went to a place called Fairytale Town...it is a place that is decorated like a bunch of fairytales...jacka nd the beanstock, Conderalla's stagecoach, Peter Rabbit...it was super cute...you even had to duck (well, adults did) to get intot he entrance cause the entrance is so short...since I have posted lots of pictures here on my blog, I will post the pics of Fairytale Town on Scott's blog...that way you will be sure to go see and comment on his blog, too...
on Monday, i had to take Christine to work in Sacramento so I could use her jeep...she was going out of town for a couple of days and I had to take the kids to their dad's house in the mornings...well, on my way out of Sacramento, I ended up on the road to Tahoe...which is not the road the road to her house...lol
I called her at work and was like, I don't think I'm on the I-5...yep, I wasn't...well, she got me turned around, but then I missed my turnoff (the 99 exit...an alternative route) cause traffic was so backed up and nobody would let me in, I started crying and was trying not to stress (this is why I hate driving in strange places) but just kept driving until I saw a sign for an exit to the I-5...I finally got home and I was just so happy to be there :)
so, basically, we just hung out...then on Wednesday, i had to drive out to the Sacramento airport to pick up Christine...luckily, I did not get lost...Will came and picked me up that night and we drove home...
it was nice to be away, but it was so nice to be home...
I had no idea how much I missed my bed...it was so soft and comfy and I was so dang comfy in it :)
the next day was Scott's 5 month check-up and i will be posting his weight and height there...
well, I guess that is all for now...
I know, it wasn't much of an update and it's so short, and it only took me 1 hr and 6 mins. to type, but hey, there just wasn't much to say ;)
fyi, I apologize for any spelling mistakes I missed, but I have no desire to go back and read all of this...

Thursday, May 10, 2007

well, i got home around 2 am this morning...
and before I do my full-of information post about my trip, I have to clean the house and take Scott to his pediatrician appt...
so you will hear from me later :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILL!!!
today is my dear husband's birthday...as many may know, though, I am in upstate Ny visiting family so I am not actually with him today, but I want to take a moment to tell him how happy I am to be with him...
Will, you are a great man, and I am so blessed to have you in my life...
you have been a great blessing to me and I love you so much...
I have missed being away from you and wish I could be with you today, but I hope you like the surprise I have planned for you today...
I planned the surprise cause I knew your present would not be there on time, but when it does get there, I hope you like it...
anyways, honey, I do hope you have a wonderful day...
you are a good man and I love you...
thank you for being so good to me :)
love,
Krystin

well, sorry it has taken so long for a post, but as some of you know, I was gone for a few days...
Will decided on Sunday (so, a few days ago) that we were going to drive up to Idaho for a few days...look at property and stuff...so, I packed and cleaned and off we went...we got just past a place called Yreka in northern CA, when Scott blew an absolute fit over being in his car seat for so long...but, really, who can blame the kid??? so we turned back around to go back to a rest stop we had just past after Yreka, sat there for awhile and decided just to stay in northern CA...Red Bluff, to be exact...
one of Will's closest friends lives up there so we just stayed with him and his family...
we got home on Thursday night and not a whole lot has gone on since then...
I went out to Target yesterday just to pick up a few things and then went to Babies 'R Us and Michael's with a couple of friends...Heather is having her baby on Tuesday (well, being induced Tues. morning) so she had some last minute stuff to do before her son is born...
you know, I'm sorry my life is so boring...I wish I could think up more stuff to tell you, but there really is not a whole lot going on here...
today consisted of making little gifts for Michelle and Tony and Madisyn...I am making ones for Aubryn, Hailee, Maigan and Laurenne as well...and Solomon, Camille and Scott...they are all the same thing, but they are all unique to each person...I have to go pick up some more stuff to make one for KL and Richard and Mum, too...
I am heading to see Michelle in 1 week today...I will be there for 1 week, but will actually be gone from here for 2 weeks...unfortunately, the days I leave and arrive home do not coordinate with Will's days off, and since I have to go to Sacramento to fly out, Will is taking me to stay with his sister on Tuesday or Wednesday, she will take me to the airport Saturday, then she will pick me up the next Saturday and I will stay there again til Wednesday...so, if there is a major lack of postings on mine and Scott's blog for that time period, that's why...I will be gone from home from Tues. Apr. 24 - Wed. May 9
well, since Will is taking a nap before work and Scott is already in bed, I am going to go work on those gifts...
talk to you later :)

my baby is getting so big...I was looking at him tonight as he was sleeping in his bassinet, and he's almost too big for it now...he's getting so long he won't fit much longer...
I remember putting him in there when he was just a few days old and him being so small in there (I will post a picture) but it just makes me so sad, but yet it doesn't...
I just love seeing him grow and progress and learn new things, but I'm so scared of losing my baby...
and every night when I look at him in there, I just can't help but feel overwhelming love for him...he is so beautiful and I just can't even imagine my life without him...
I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband, who also shares in my joys with our child...I couldn't do it without him, you know :) I couldn't...these two are my boys and I love them to death :)

this was then...(a few days old)

and this is now.(a few days over 4 months)
"Redneck Kite-flying"
wow...I had no idea I was so lame...
I was looking at my blog yesterday and apparetnly I have not blogged in 9 days...nevermind, make that 10 days...apparently today is Thursday, not Wednesday...I had no idea...where does the time go???
and the sad thing is I haven't even had anything exciting happen to tell you about...
ooooh, except this...this is some fun stuff :)
on Easter Sunday we went to Will's Aunt Shelly's house for dinner...well, more lunch than dinner, but whatever...and I am proud to say that I am no longer a gun virgin...I got to shoot a gun for the first time ever...and it is WAY harder than it looks.....but I would like to add that I shot the target (a pepsi can) on the first try!!! but I missed the target every time after that...lol
Uncle Wayne then took the kids redneck kite-flying..."What is redneck kite-flying?" you may ask...well, let me tell you...if the kite has no string (which this one did not), you grab a fishing pole, hook the line to the kite and then go out to the middle of a field and let the kite go...redneck kite-flying.
I have pictures...and I smell a scrapbook layout happening...lol
if I think of anything else exciting, I will be sure to tell you right away so i do not forget...
sorry that I am so lame :)

so, this ring is the inspiration for the ring i want for mother's day...what I want is a pink or blue stone put in for each child I have...obviously blue if I have a boy, pink if I have a girl...this way, i can start the ring now with a blue stone for Scott, and add to it after each child is born...
I think I would want a pink tourmaline for girl, and tanzanite for boy.
what do you think???
well, all kinds of things have been going on down here...
it has been crazy warm here...I just got a heat rash on Friday...it crazy hurt!!!
I was moving stuff out of our storage unit on Friday and moved about 95% of the stuff out of there...I must have pulled or tore a muscle in my arm, though, cause it has been super sore...I actually was laying on my bed yesterday afternoon while Scott was napping and he woke up, so I put my elbow on the bed to push myself up and this incredible pain shot though my arm all the way up into my shoulder and I could not move my arm...it hurt so bad and I had to go get Scott and pick him up and change his diaper...it really hurt!!! it had been hurting since Friday, but each day it got worse, yesterday being the worst!!! then today it wasn't so bad until I helped Will moved the rest of it out and that aggravated it again...oh, lucky me!!!
I have been doing tons of scrapbooking...I have done 11 pages, I think, in the past couple weeks, but 3 of those are completed yet...when our comp broke down, all the settings were reset, including our printer...so, currently our computer does not recognize our printer and since I need the printer for 3 of my lo's...well, you get the point :)
Scott is getting much better at taking naps now during the day...I can actually lay him down for a nap and he might actually take one...but no guarantee...lol
he is much better at self-soothing...he LOVES sucking his thumb...great source of comfort...but I think I may have already told you that...I dunno :)
oh, what else is going on???
Solomon turned 9 today...he was making a cake when we called him tonight...hopefully we will be able to see him soon :)
I am planning to buy some black fabric and white fabric to create backdrops for photographs of Scott...I really want to become better at taking pictures :)
gas is crazy expensive here...$3.19/gallon...they are absolutely gauging us...it is absolutely terrible...I figure we are getting pretty close to Canada's gas prices...
we are looking at buying some land in Idaho...you can get 10 acres of land for, like, $60,000 or less...you'll pay for than that for 1 acre here...we would like to buy a bunch of land there, pay it off in a 10-15 yr. period, then build a house on the land and retire there...Will really wants to retire in Idaho...and the nice thing too is that i will be so much closer to Canada...unfortunately, Will probably won't be retired until he's 50, so another 12 yrs'ish (and may put a couple extra years into the department) so, it wouldn't be for awhile, but you never know, he may retire early and we could be there earlier...but only time will tell, I guess...
well, I guess that is all for now...there is always so much to tell, and then when I sit down and type, I forget it all...
so, I am going to go update Scott's blog now with something, I don't know what yet...lol
talk to you soon...

Saturday, March 31, 2007

so, I am in love with my sticker/label/magnet maker...
here is a pic of the magnets I made today for our fridge...

Thursday, March 29, 2007

so, I was blog-hopping today and I looked at when I last blogged...can you believe it has already been a week???
I can't...
where has the time gone??? I feel sometimes like life is just flying by and I am missing so much...it's weird, really...
just one day you're at church on a Sunday, the next day, it seems, you wake up but it's Thursday, not Monday...where did the week go??? that is the story of my life...
I am amazed that Scott has already been in my life for 3.5 months...technically longer if you count the pregnancy...but 3.5 months...he has grown so much...
one of his favourite things is to fly abouve our heads and bounce in the air...it cracks him up...he's got the sweetest giggle and I just love it!!! Will makes him laugh better than I do...he is really ticklish for Will, too...not so much for me...on Sunday, I was getting him dressed for church and he just lay there laughing...it was so funny and cute...
he loves having a blanket with him at all times so he can suck on it...it gives his gums so much relief as his tooth comes in...I got some really cute pictures of him sucking on a towel this week...he is adorable!!!
not a whole lot has really gone on in the past week to be honest...I went to a baby shower yesterday for a friend of mine who is due in about 3 weeks...she is having a boy...I got to see lots of old friends from my old ward at church there which was really nice...they knew me before and while I was pregnant, but I moved before I had Scott, so this was a good chance for them to see him.
I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking...Scott is still not sleeping during the days for me to do it, I just hold him and scrapbook...I am the queen of multi-tasking!!! sometimes I am able to put him down in the swing for a few minutes so I can use both my hands, but then he may grump again, so back to one-handed I go...oh, the life of a mother who has to keep a baby quiet so daddy can sleep!!!
life is pretty good, overall...
we got termites, though...that sucks!!! they are in the master bathroom right behind the toilet...kinda creeps me out going to the bathroom knowing that bugs are sticking their heads out of my wall...
having them makes me feel so dirty and trailer-trashy...lol
but, it's not like I can do anything to stop termites from invading my house...unless I don't want a house with wood...but wood is very structurally sound..it definitely has it's perks...know what I mean???
they're not like cockroaches...dirty, messy house can equal cockroaches...that I can prevent (which, by the way, I do...cockroach-free home here, fyi), but, termites, yeah, can't prevent those :)
so, the bug guys are coming tomorrow to, cross your fingers, kill them...
but i do have to say, termites look nothing like I would have thought...they're not cute, by any stretch of the imagination, but they don't really look like they could eat wood...but, what do I know??? I never saw one before I saw it poking it's head out of my wall...which I then compared to a picture I found on the internet...(I 'heart' the internet)
but onto happier topics...
Scott and i and Katrine went for our weekly 1.5 hr walk today...it was so nice...the weather was perfect...aka not so hot that I couldn't breathe...I enjoy being able to breathe.
I am glad that we can go walking together..I know if I was left to my own devices, I would not map out and walk a 1.5 hr. walk by myself...I wouldn't...time flies, though, when we walk together...and it is really good for Scott cause he always sleeps for at least 1 hr. of the walk...being outside really relaxes him...
well, I guess that is all for now...
I promise to try to do better with my updates and try to do it again before another week...

Thursday, March 22, 2007

well, I now have my computer back so I can get back to blogger-land...
so much has happened inthe apst two weeks I would not even begin to know where to start, but I can tell you this...
on the same day, our washing machine and computer both broke...that was a very crappy day :)
we just got a new washer deliever on Monday and it is so pretty and big...LOVE it!!! and we just got the computer back today...
everything is going pretty well in our lives...Scott is teething (already)...he has been for a couple of weeks now...he has one tooth on the bottom coming in, but it has not broken the skin as of yet...opoor baby is in so much pain...I feel for him...
I think he is also about to go through a growth spurt...on Sunday we both went down for a nap at about 4:30-5pm...I figured he would wake up a couple hours later...I was up at 7...he woke up at 2am to eat...and didn't get up again til about 7 Monday morning...normally he only sleeps another couple of hourse after eating, so it is amazing he went another 5 hours...
I had to go get a new cell phone today...I took it off the charger last night at 10pm, when I woke upa t 7, the battery charge had already dropped one bar, by 8:15, it had dropped another bar...so, I figured something was wrong...so I got a new phone, went home, tried to use the phone, and lo-and-freakin'-behold, the new phone didn't work...it wouldn't get any reception at all, so I had to go back in to get another phone...I had 3 different cell phones in one day...
we had Solomon here since Saturday...last weekend we had him and we went to a place celled "Boomers!"...they have mini golf, arcade, bumper baots...all kinds of fun stuff...we played mini golf and I won by 1 point...I am woman, hear me roar!!! Solomon is still convinced I cheated (I was the score-keeper, you see)...but, alas, it just comes down to him being a sore loser...lol. I scored 61, Will scored 62 and Solomon scored 64...it was lots of fun...
oh, dear me, what else has been going on??? I don't even know...I will have to think over the next couple of days and keep updating...
well, I don't wantt o be on the comp much longer...I am exhausted and will probably be going to bed soon, but I just have to go check out all your blogs now...

Scott's blog has now officially been updated with a new video...be sure to check it out :)
well, I guess it is about time I update you all on my life...
there has not been a whole lot going on here, to be honest...
the trees have been budding for awhile now, so it is quite nice out here...not like Canada, I am sure...
I am taking a photography class at SBOU (scrapbookeronline university)...we are going to learn the basics about terms and definiteions and how to do all kinds of stuff with our cameras...I am really looking forward to it :)
I have been doing a lot of reading on how to make candles and soaps...there is so much more to it than I ever would have thought...funnily enough, a few years back I decided to make candles for a couple people for christmas...as I have been reading about candle making, I don't think I did one thing right that year I made those candles...I wonder if those candles even ever burned....somehow, I doubt it...lol
Scott is drooling like there is no tomorrow and has been for probably 1-1.5 wks...it is crazy!!! I did not know someone could produce that much drool...oh, how I hope he is not teathing yet...but I have heard it can happen this early...I jsut hope it's not :)
I went out walking a couple of times last week...on Wednesday, we went for 1.5 hrs...Scott just loves being outside...never utters a sounds...he fell asleep for probably about half the walk...then on Friday, we walked to the park (about 20 min walk one way) for a play group with some ladies at church...
I realized last night that it has been 3 months since I have slept the whole night....I can't believe it...the time has gone by so fast...it's jsut amazing...but I wouldn't trade it for the world...although, I think I am going to need to start an actual schedule for cleaning and things to do...with learning and planning to make candles and soaps, wanting to scrapbook, laundry, dishes, walking, photography class, taking care of Scott...I just have to actually sit down and decide what days each thing will get done...cause I cannot do all items every day of the week...I just can't do it :)
we're probably going to cancel our house phone all together and jsut bump up our cell phone minutes...Vonage seems to be really interfering with our computer which is excrutiatingly annoying...
what is this??? another spider...I am finding grossly big daddy long-legs every day in our apt...they are totally grodey!!! excuse me while I go kill another one...okay, I did it!!!
I've got some crazy allergies going on today...I jsut feel like crap...I am so glad Scott is already in bed cause I just have so much to do and cannot hold him...he has been falling asleep alot earlier than normal lately, but has still only been getting up once in the night...
I figured I would take this opportunity to catch you all up on life here, and then I have to go do dishes...once I do that, I think I am going to start working on our week 1 assignment for the photography class...
so, I guess I had better get going...
talk to you all again soon
oh, I guess I should also add that my chirporactor has told me that if I want to take the training to be a massage therapist, he will hire me...how cool is that???

things to do...

1) buy some socks that fit my son's abnormally long feet :) I don't think his 0-3 month socks have fit him since he was 1 month (if even).
2) get bunk beds in and set up.
3) call phone company and cancel old # so we're not paying for two phone numbers.
4) water the flowers I got on Sunday so I can maybe stay away from the ever so loving title "plant-killer".
5) load the dishwasher...AGAIN!!!
6) sit and ponder how a dog can possibly need to go to the bathroom more than I did as a 9 month pregnant woman.
7) tell the dog AGAIN I just took her out and she can wait.
8) keep trying to convince Will that we should go to Utah March 2-3 for a marriage retreat (I really want to go, he doesn't).
9) feed Scott...AGAIN!!! (dang, this kid can eat).
10) tell Will how wonderful I am for figuring out what was wrong with the printer so now we don't have to go buy a new one. (kinda sad, cause the one I wanted was also a fax...that woulda been nice to have).
11) try out my new breadmaker.
please go look at Scott's new blog...

so, I got my Valentine's Day present...
I know it is early, but Will figured why wait to give it to me...so, naturally, I didn't argue...
he got me the pink razr phone...I have wanted one of these for quite awhile now, and he thought of it last night (after water leaked from his water bottle in his gym bag on his phone...oops!!!)...so, he went and got each of us a razr...but his is silver...not pink :)
so, I have been busy trying to figure it out, get the ringtone I like and enter all my family and friend's numbers...that took awhile :)
I have not given him my present to him yet...he has to wait until dinner tomorrow night...but tonight we are going to See's Chocolates to buy each other a chocolate...I hope I get a mint truffle...those are super yummy!!!
well, I better go keep cleaning the kid's room while Scott is sleeping...I do, after all, want a place to put a desk so I can scrapbook...

so, apparently Will and his mom were not kidding when they said that by last night or today, I would feel like someone had slugged me in the arm (because of the tetanus shot)...it hurts so bad...it actually feels like an infection mixed with muscle pain...you know when you have a cut that gets red around it and infected and hurts...that's what it feels like!!!
sucks to be me...

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

oh, if pin cushions has feeling...
I could tell you exactly how they feel...
I had the opportunity today to get a few needles...
I had my immigration dr. appt. today and, to say the least, I got a few pokes...5 to be exact :)
now I don't have an issue woth getting needles, they don't bother me, but 5 times is a lot of times to get poked...they took blood, gave me a TB skin test (they inject liquid just below the skin's surface so I could actually see my skin bubble up at the place of injection...that was weird...lol), gave me tetanus shot, chickenpox shot (I can really see why I needed that one...lol), and MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)...
so, that was my fun day...
after that, we met up with my mil and went to lunch at a bbq place...it sure was scrummy :)
well, I guess that is all for now...

so I figure it is by inspiration alone that I started calling Scott "Chunky Monkey" for a nickname...
we had his 2 month check-up today and, well, he's definitely a chunky monkey...
he is weighing in at a whopping 13lbs 2 oz (and he's only 2 months old)...the chart has that weight for 4 month olds...lol
and he is 23 3/4 in. long...
so, he is 4 oz. shy of 5 lbs heavier and has grown 2 3/4 in. since birth...
but for what it's worth, the dr. isn't concerned...he said it is a significant weight gain, but it's not abnormal (so, I guess Maigan and Madisyn are abnormal being as they weigh the same, pretty much, at 6 & 7 months...lol) whatever helps me sleep at night, right??? hee hee
I guess he's a healthy boy :)

I WON!!! I WON!!! I WON!!!
which I might add was very busy from everybody buying food for their SuperBowl party (but that's beside the point) and they have just finished doing a huge remodeling job of Von's (aka Safeway), so they are doing a grand re-opening party thing...free samples and prizes (apparently) and stuff...
so, I'm going through the checkout and in the aisle next to me, aisle 4, the cashier proclaims over the intercom that the customer who has just paid has just won an i-Pod...cool!!! that's cool that they are giving away i-Pod's...
then it's my turn to pay, at aisle 3...so, I pay and as she is ready to hand me my receipt, she gets on the intercom and announces that a customer in aisle 3 has just won an i-Pod!!! well, that would be me!!!
how cool is that??? I never win anything, and I win an i-Pod!!!
I was giggling the whole way home...I called my husband, my mum and my sister to tell them :) I'm such a nerd, I know...but this is a cool thing to win...
it kinda made me wonder, though...had I driven and not walked to the store, would I have still happened to be a winner??? if I had gone through an express lane instead of a normal lane, would I have won??? if it hadn't taken the bakery section so long to help me, would I have still won???
I'm so glad I won!!!
so, I had to just share my happiness!!!

I know that every mother says this, but I cannot get over how cute my kid is...
I just downloaded a few pics I had on my camera and I just am overwhelmed...he truly is a beautiful child...and he holds such a special place in my heart...
I have been so blessed to have him in my life...I love getting to know him...I love how he gets upset when I leave the room (okay, that is frustrating sometimes), I love how he smiles when he sees me, or I know that he's crying cause his diaper is wet or if he's hungry or if he's tired...

I love his personality...how he bops his head around when I'm standing him in my lap, and how he will totally stop crying as soon as the wet diaper breaks contact with his skin, how he'll clench his legs so I can't put the new diaper on (trust me, this kid is strong)...how he'll smile when I ask him if he has a smile for mama...
I love that he has been holding his head up since he was 3 days old, and how he can push himself up on my lap to a standing position (of course, while being supported)...
it's funny how sometimes he just wants to be held...he doesn't want food, he doesn't want to sleep, he doesn't want to sit...he just wants picked up and held...and sometimes, okay, most times, being held just isn't good enough if it's not his mama holding him :)
now that's a special feeling...

anyone with kids can relate to this post, I am sure, and for anyone who doesn't have children yet, it is an incredible experience...
all these things that I have mentioned and so many more are worth more than most other things in life...
I feel so lucky and blessed to be trusted by God with this precious child, and I hope and pray that as he gets older that he will feel the same way about having me as his mother...I pray that he is proud of me and thinks the world of me and will trust me and know how much I love him...but i imagine that is what every mother hopes for...
well, that's an ode to my son...
now for some more of the preciously adorable pictures of him that inspired this post...

Monday, January 29, 2007

si, it's not a "Heather", but I just went to microwave some pizza for breakfast and I found in there a bowl of soup that Will put in yesterday aftenoon...I couldn't help but laugh cause Heather wrote on her blog that she once left a grilled cheese sandwich in the sandwich maker for a month...lol
so, it's not quite as bad, but it made me laugh...
and another thing, why is it called a "dishwasher" if it doesn't wash dishes??? ok, if it's more like a "dishsterilizer", why not call it that??? why would I wanna wash dishes first, then put them in the dishwasher??? isn't the dishwasher supposed to wash them for me??? am I wrong in thinking this??? I have to wash now a bunch of dishes that the dishwasher decided not to wash...
we have a bit of a love/hate relationship...
and it's not like I'm even putting dishes in that are caked with dry food...so not doing that...but it is scalding hot water, and shouldn't scalding hot water remove stuff??? you'd think so...at least, that's what the dishwasher making companies make you believe...and the dishwasher soap making companies...it's all a gimmick!!!
maybe i should take into consideration that I have one of the first dishwashers made in the history of man...maybe they didn't gloat as much in their dishwasher's abilities like the newer guys do...so, maybe I should cut my dishwasher some slack...
but if I do that, then I have to do that for my oven, which I can only put one dish in (not two side by side) because it is too narrow...which really sucks if you wanna make a main meal and roasted vegetables...it can't happen...and I only have one shelf, so I can't even stack...
I can hardly wait to have my own house where I can have a dream kitchen...which would also include A LOT more cupboard space, a nice new dishwasher that washes dishes (note that I did not call it a dishsanitizer) and a much bigger oven...
wow...this turned into a much bigger rant that I had anticipated...oops!!! forgive me :)

this kid is so darn adorable, I just couldn't help but post more pictures of him...

okay, so I think that my new best friend is my chiropractor...
ever since Scott was born, I have been in so much pain...much worse than while I was pregnant...I had little to no back pain during pregnancy and my neck pain got kinda bad...but after, much worse...
apaprently, oxytocin (sp?) loosens the vertebrae, so they shift...well, then they need to be readjusted to be put back into place so that they are in normal positioning again which will really help in the next pregnancy...
and, funny ha-ha is that the chiropractor I was seeing during pregnancy was in the ward I just moved out of...he can no longer take my insurance so his father-in-law (same office) is treating me now and he is in the ward I moved into...how funny is that??? anyways, I thought that was kinda funny...
he told me that I really need to work on not cracking my neck, but it's so second nature, and it's the only way to relieve tension, so I think I am going to try massaging it more when it is really stiff instead of cracking it...wish me luck!!!
other than that, not much more going on...
I did another scrapbook page for Scott, but I am not sure what I think of it...I think I am going to re-do the lettering...maybe give it a shadowing effect to make it more bold and pop out more from the page...more bold, know what I mean??? the only reason I don't want to is cause it uses a good amount of my sticker making film, but hey, that's what the 50% off coupons are for, right??? replace the cartridges for cheap :) story of my life...
well, I think I am going to go to bed...I didn't sleep well last night cause Scott and I were up all night...I think he had a tummy-ache yesterday cause he was grumpy and crying all day (so not like him) and he did it all through the night...had a really hard time staying asleep...I called my mum in tears at 12:30 am my time (so 1:30 am her time) cause I was just so stressed from all the crying and not being able to do anything...it was a very rough night...he seems to be doing a bit better today, only had a couple moments...he is actually in bed now, so I may as well get in there and get as much sleep as I can before he wakes up again...
well, I hope you are all well...
talk to you again soon :)

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

well, this has been a good weekend...
sorry I have not blogged in a few days, but we were actually out of town this past weekend...
Will's best friend, Shawn (best man in our wedding) moved up to northern Cali. a while ago and has since been trying to get us to move up there too...they live in the country and have horses and a bunch of acres of land...and the air is a lot cleaner...lol
this is a picture of Shawnessy saddled up giving Scott a ride...lol

well, we headed up there on Sunday and spent a couple of days...we took Solomon and on Sunday and Monday, Shawn and his son Matthew along with Will and Solomon went fishing...they never caught a single one, but they did enjoy just being outside away from the city...it was good to be away...Will really just needed the time to relax and not have to think about work...work just consumes him sometimes since he has such a bad schedule...but with that schedule comes extra money which we do really need right now :)
Mily and her girls Amy and Rhylee along with me and Scott all hung out together Sunday and Monday...Monday, the girls were in school, but after school, we went to meet up with the guys at their fishing spot for a bit and then went shopping...I got some great new clothes...I unpacked all my clothes from the storage unit that i wore before the pregnancy and NOTHING fits me...which is sad, cause there are a lot of clothes there...ha ha ha
so, I just had to do what I had to do...and that was go shopping...I know, it's a rough life :)
I went to Van Heusen, the Gap and Ralph Lauren...I got clothes from Van Heusen and the Gap, but RL's clothes were too small...still have more weight to lost, I guess :) but I already knew that...
I got 2 pairs of pants (that roll up into capri's, as well) so they weill also work for summer and 4 shirts...I almost bought a valentine's onesie for Scott but it was $10...and for a single onesie, I just can't justify that :) and plus he has more than enough onesies...lol
I also bought Will a boomerang...his sister was going to get one for him for christmas, but I thought he had one...well, he doesn't, so as a surprise I bought him one...I can't only go out and buy something for myself...gotta get him a present too...
did I ever tell you about the valentine's dinnerware I bought from Target??? so great...white plates with red rim with hearts and silverware with hearts on the handles...gotta love the dollar section :) I am going to make a special valentine's day dinner for us and that is the dinnerware we will use...I am so excited :)
Will and I are starting to think about more the portraits we are planning on getting done of Scott...I know it is later than newborn pics are typically done, but he got really bad acne when he was 2 weeks old and we wanted it to clear up before we did pictures...well, it is pretty much cleared up now...
I aws watching DIY tv's Scrapbooking show today(and Heidi Swapp was on) and I saw some great ideas...she used 12" x 12" transparencies on her pages but I have no idea where to get those...at least not the clear ones...of course at any scrap store you can pick up ones with lettering and designs on them, but I can't find clear ones...but obviously they are around, cause Heidi used them...so, happy hunting to me, I guess...I like watching that show cause it does have some really neat ideas on it...
I was hoping to do some more work on Scott's scrapbook album today, but he wakes up every time I put him down, so I may not get to, but I sure hope I can...I really want to get more pages done...
well, I guess that is all for now...I have typed this whole blog while holding Scott, so, it is probably time to get going...
hope you are all having a great time and I miss all of my family and friends back home...I hope to see you all again soon...

I am so in love with...
my Xyron sticker maker and Cricut personal cutting system...they are so great...I have made 3 cards tonight already...
I love how easy they are to use and how fun they are...I jsut love being able to make basically anything I want into a sticker and type whatever I want, however big I want, and make it into a sticker...lol
theone thing I can say, though, is that the Xyron is so not worth $50 USD (or $70 CAD)...it's great, don't get me wrong...I LOVE IT, but I would never pay more than half price for it...it's just not worth that amount of money...but it's definitely worth half price :)
so, I love it and soon the cards will be posted in my gallery in SBO...maybe I will even post them here so others who don't know how to get to my gallery in SBO can see them :)
but not right now, cause Scott is starting to cry and wants some mama time...ttfn!!!

so my happy news is...
Will found a website that says the avg. woman needs 2000 cals./day and if the woman is nursing, she needs an additional 500-800...so I can totally eat more that I thought...YAH!!!
I can eat more food...good food :)
nothing special as of yet today...
Scott is hanging out in his...what do you call that thing...it's not a sling, but a carrier that sits on the front of your body...you should all know what I mean...he fell asleep in it so I can clean and do stuff without him getting all upset at me not holding him...gotta love it!!!
had a killer headache last night...it was awful everytime Scott woke up cause me head was pounding...at 2am, when he woke up to eat, it hurt so bad and I was so tired, that I couldn't even sit to nurse him...I had to give him a bottle...that has never happened before...
I am unpacking boxes from the storage unit...dishes and clothes, mostly...I had no idea I had so many clothes...lol
I'm wondering which member of my in-laws was the lucky duck to pack all my clothes...and I can't help but wonder what they were thinking...hee hee
as for how am I doing with the calorie counting thing...to be honest, I think I am going to starve to death trying to stay in a good calorie range...you know, that approx. 1800-2000/day...I had 1615 cals. yesterday...I just feel hungry all the time, like I am starving myself...but I have to keep trying...I do need to lost weight :)
obviously, I can't and won't be crazy about losing weight since I am still nursing Scott, but I can make healthier food choices so that my calories consumed are not from junk food...that way I will likely still lose some weight, but become healthier too...wish me luck!!!
well, I guess that is all...
I have to put away the dishes from the dishwasher and then try to get some laundry in...clean up a bit...the RS presidency is coming by tomorrow to visit, so I gotta get everything tidies up...aka get rid of all the boxes of dishes sitting in the dining room...lol
well, hope you are all having a happy day :)

I LOVE BEING A MUMMY!!!
you know, there are so many great things about being a mum...I wouldn't even know where to begin, but I would like to share some thoughts...
I think one of the things that amaze me most about babies is how they learn to develop...this is what I mean...we don't teach a baby how to smile, they just learn how...we don't teach a baby how to lift his or her head up, they just figure it out...they just learn how to grip onto objects on their own, they start to understand words on their own (it takes a while, but they do it)...it just fascinates me that they can do it...they just develop on their own, without us telling them how to do it...
of course,a s they get older, we teach them more...like how to actually say the words and spell them and stuff...but we don't teach them how to start using their voices when they are babies...they just figure it out on their own...and I think that is amazing!!!
things are great here...Scott has been going through a growth spurt so we have been up 2-3 times a night now instead of just 1 time...so sad for me... :(
he is getting so big...I don't know his weight as of right now, but his 2 month check-up is coming up on Feb. 5, so I will let you know then...
it is getting really cold here at night (at least in the house,anyways...lol) I woke up this morning and it was 52 deg. in here...that around 11 deg celcius...fyi
yesterday morning there was ic e on the ground...on my way outr to church, there was a truck in the complex parking lot that was having trouble getting out of hid parking spot because of ice...of course, I took a picture...

Scott and I are going out today to visit with a friend, Nichoole and her 1 yr. old son, Connor...
I have been learning to cook Italian food...I got one cookbook for Christmas (thanks, Laurenne) and one for my birthday (thanks, Will)...the recipes are very easy and so good :)
Will and I have decided that we both need to eat better and lose weight...I think it is going to be very hard cause we are both big eaters and can't eat a smaller amount and be satisfied hunger-wise...but we need to try...Shawnessy got to eat the last 3 doughnuts that we had in the house today...sure, we try to eat better and give the dog junk food...lol
I will keep you posted on our progress...
our mum is trying to plan a girl's trip to UT this summer...I am very excited and it sounds like a lot of fun...
well, not much more to say, but here is a video of Scott smiling and talking...sorry that it is sideways...apparently you can rotate photos on the computer, but not movies...

BLUE MAN GROUP...Nov. '06
okay...I know we went and saw the Blue Man Group back in November, but I am going to finally post some stuff from the concert...mainly cause Laurenne asked a couple times who they were...
so, I am posting 2 videos from the concert as well as a photo...
hope you enjoy...(sorry about the second video going in and out of focus, my camera does that for some reason)
don't forget to pause the video at the bottom of the page so it's not playing at the same time...

MY SON'S FIRST HICKEY!!!

yes, it is true...my boy has his first hickey...compliments of himself!!!
he was all snuggled up to me last night on my chest, sucking on his arm and apparently has really good suction...cause he gave himself this...

and I don't know if you can actually see the picture in this video, but it's just him eating and he sounds so cute...
just scroll down to the bottom of my blog first and press pause on the music video so you don't hear both this video and that one...

HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY DEAR SCOTTIE
HAPPY 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

and many more...

it's true...my dear little boy turned 1 month old today...
now I was told that they grow up so fast...but does it have to be THAT fast???
seriously...
it seems like only yesterday that I was in the hospital giving birth to him...
but I would not trade this past month with him for anything else in the world...he has been the biggest blessing I could ever imagine and he has taught me so much...especially patience (which I know I still have to learn more about)...
I have a beautiful boy and I look forward to every other birthday (whether it be another month or year) that he will have...
sadly, I did not get the 1 month photo shoot that I wanted to today, so I will be doing that tomorrow and post more pics of him...
but we did still celebrate his day...by shopping for me!!!
(hey, I needed clothes...don't judge me!!!) lol

well, a whole lotta nothing going on here right now...
Christmas and New Year's have come and gone and life is continuing as normal...
Will had to work on New Year's Eve, so we didn't do anything special...Scott and I were in bed around 11, and I woke up at midnight to firecrackers outside our house, so I leaned over and gave Scott a kiss and wished him a happy new year...
we are all getting over being sick...I am probably the sickest still of us all...I'm not dying sick or anything like that, but I do have a nasty cough which I had to go buy some stuff for yesterday...the night b4 last, everytime I coughed, Scott woke up and it made for a long night trying to get him to stay asleep...but we got through it and now I am taking stuff to help with that cough...
I've been doing laundry like crazy lately, desperately hoping that if I can catch up on all the housework and get it all done, then I might be able to actually do some scrapping...what I would do to pull out my Cricut and make a project with it...
tomorrow we are going to go to lunch with my mil...I wanted to get out of the house today, but she was busy, so we are gonna hang out tomorrow...it will be a good chance for her to see Scott again since she hasn't since him since mid Dec.
Will and I have been looking at doing some treasure hunting...well, I will not go, but him and Solomon will...there is this show called Cash and Treasures, and they show you where to find gems and stuff in the USA...like black opals, sunstones, sapphires, tourmalines...basically, you can go to the mines, and find them yourself, get them cut into gems, and sell them or get jewellery made out of them...or keep them in their raw form if you want...they're yours to keep...so, Will wants to go out and do that sometime, and since I won't be able to be digging all day with Scott, we may try to plan it at a time that I can go home for a visit to Canada...wouldn't that be nice???
you know, overall life is good...
not a whole lot going on...
oh, here's my happy news, of the 52lbs I gained during pregnancy, I have already lost 36lbs...not bad in 4 weeks...
Scott is 4 weeks old today...I can barely believe it...he is growing up so fast...outgrowing his NB sized pyjamas...which is sad cause I love those jammies...guess I will have to go to the store and buy a larger size...
he is such a joy in my life...and such a good kid...he is very smiley and happy and just seems to love life :)
I love when I say "hi" to him and he looks at me and makes a sound that sounds just like he is saying "hi" back...I know he is not actually saying "hi", but it sounds like it and I love it :)
we went for a walk yesterday to the grocery store which was really nice...he loves being outside and loves car rides, too...he has beautiful blue eyes (which I truly do hope stay blue)...he loves laying on his daddy's chest,too...he is always so happy there, so content :)
he is beautiful and we love him so much...
I cannot wait to get back to Canada so he can meet his other cousins and aunties and uncles and grandma and grandpa...who knows, maybe Michelle will be able to come up at the same time too...either way, I cannot wait for him to meet my side of the family...
well, I guess that is all for now...

what does he see???

what does he dream about???

I've wondered this since the day he was born...
when he's sleeping, I watch him...since he is usually sleeping in my arms...when he starts to cry in his dream, is he just uncomfortable, or is he having a bad dream??? I guess it's a bad dream...when he is smiling in his sleep, is he having a good dream??? what is it about??? is it about his mama, is it about his daddy or his brother or sister??? is it about Heavenly Father and Jesus who I am sure he remembers vividly???

when he is laying in my arms, and looking past me and reaching his arm out, who is he reaching at??? does he see angels???

I guess these are just thoughts that I have and wonder about...I don't think that I actually expect an answer from anyone since there is no way to know the answers to my thoughts...but I just wanted to put them out there...to express what I was thinking and I imagine that some of you have wondered the same thing about your kids...

just thoughts...

omigosh!!!
life has been so great since the birth of our son...
I still do not have our computer (Will works on his own time) so this is being done at my mil's house :)
I will give you as much of an update as I can in this short time...
the labour was very easy for me :)
I was admitted Dec. 5 at 8pm...I was given Cervadyl (sp?) to soften my uterus...I was only 3 cm dilated (cause my dr. made me that 1 wk prior by stripping my membranes), and 8 days overdue :)
the cervadyl caused me to start contracting and made me 4 cm dilated...at 4:30am on Dec. 6, they gave me patossin (sp?) in hopes that it would dilate me more...at some point in time around 8am, I think, they gave me the epidural...gotta love the epidural :)
at 1pm, my dr came in and I was still 4cm dilated, so she broke my water and told me that if I did not dilate 1 cm in the next hours and continue that pattern, they would be giving me a c-section since I was having great contractions and getting nowhere...well, at 3pm, the nurse came in and I was 10 cm dilated...apparently the c-section threat works every time ;)
she let me sit for 30 mins to allow Scott to move down the birthing canal more by himself to allow me less pushing...and at 3:45 I started pushing...3 pushes per contraction...
when the dr. arrived at 4 pm I had done 3 sets of 3 (so, 9 pushes)...I pushed once with the dr. and his head popped out, 1 more push and his whole body came out...so, a whopping 11 pushes :) if only everybody had it that easy, right???
I then told the dr., "That was easy!"
I seriously was expecting so much worse...lol :)
since he has been home, life has been great...we get up usually once in the night to feed...he sleeps 3-4 hrs at a time at night, so mama gets some good rest :), I left that shampoo bottle open on the bathroom floor from his first bath and had a nice cleanup to do...lol
he has already peed on his daddy's toothbrush during a diaper change (so daddy had to miss a couple brushings til he got a new one), he peed on me in the dr.'s office, and this kid can smile...and no, it's not gas...cause you hear him when he's got gas!!! lol
he is absolutely precious and I would say that the thing that amazes me most is how much more I love him than I thought I would...I mean, of course I knew I would love him, but it's so much more than I expected...it's overwhelming :)
he is, to me, of course, perfect in every way :)
I couldn't even begin to describe how much I love him and love having him in my life...he is such a blessing to us :)
well, I am hoping to get some more pics up soon...really, I am...my intentions are good :)
please just be patient with me, as I have been trying since we moved to get the computer to our house...
this weekend Will's family is celebrating christmas up at Shaver Lake, so we are heading up there tomorrow...my birthday is on Saturday, and I will be 28 :)
anyways, life is good, sorry for the long post...hope you like the update :)

December 6, 2006

Mum and babe are both doing well. Aubryn wants to add "Awww, he's so cute! I love my new baby cousin."

Monday, December 04, 2006

hey, this is kari-lynn updating for krystin. aubryn says that krystin's crazy. and since we are writing this blog for her, we pretty much get to say whatever we want. although she does want us to mention that the reason she has not updated in so long is because their computer is still at will's brother's house and she does not live across the street from her mil so can't use her computer as easily anymore. after much prodding, she did say that will had just called his brother to let him know that they will be picking their computer up in the next day or so.

if she does not have the baby before thursday, she will be induced then. she is getting very excited, as are we all. we wish they could come up for christmas so we could see the little bean but as long as she gets her computer hooked up soon, then at least we will be able to see pics.

aubryn says we have to go watch a movie now. we may or may not update more later.

ciao!
